I remember my dad and I building a playhouse when I was little. I remember always being outside with him. We always worked on cars, built stuff, went fishing, playing near the creek, rode bikes, things like that. Mom would never want me to get dirty but I loved hanging out with my dad and doing all the things that he did. I remember going to my brother's grave with my dad. I remember my dad teaching me how to drive. My dad came to my basketball games as well. I remember me always wanting to tell my dad bye before he left when he worked night shift. When we came home from work at 3am from a different shift, I would try to stay up and just tell him hi and give him a hug. Dad was always the one that I wanted to ride in the car with, sit beside at dinner, etc. Dad is the one that I hug and he holds me while I am mourning a loved one's death. Dad and I talk about lots of things. He knows that I have smoked and drank. I curse around my dad. We discuss alot of stuff. He isn't as uptight as mom so we bond alot. I will still go and lay down with my dad sometimes and just want television with him. I love knowing that my dad is there. I still smile when I make my dad proud of me. I was beaming back when he saved those kids. Alot of stuff has happened between us but he has always been here for me. I love him to death and regret some of the stuff that has happened, but his life is in order now and I am so glad of that.
