There’s some solid talent in the Class of 2014 girls’ class. Now, I am sure I haven’t seen all the top players yet.

But it’s not hard to pick the top player at this point – LaRue County wing Ivy Brown. She averaged 15 points and nine rebounds as a freshman.

The 6-foot Brown is a talent.

Here’s the current top players I’ve seen:

• 1. Ivy Brown, LaRue County, 6-0: She could be a big-time performer before her career ends.

• 2. MacKenzie Cann, Anderson County, 5-11: She’s not far behind Brown and helped her team to the Eighth Region title game last season.

• 3. Danielle Lawrence, Butler, 5-10: Led her team in scoring as a freshman.

• 4. Javonna Layfield, Ballard, 5-10: A ridiculous athlete.

• 5. Nicole Kiernan, Newport Central Catholic, 5-10: Played like a veteran for the NewCath squad last season.

• 6. Tereka Guyn, Scott County, 6-1

• 7. Kayla Rankin, Perry County Central, 6-1

• 8. Jenna Spencer, North Hardin, 5-11

• 9. Devin Conley, Garrard County, 5-8

• 10. Alexis Calhoun, Marion County, 6-1
