Top 10 programs in the mountains since 2000?
#26
Bolt Wrote:Simply put, these are the best two programs in the mountains since 2000. Honestly, if were talking about post season success, then yes id go with Belfry, but overall, year in and year out, id go with Bell. Theyve played tough competetion, and not to mention, theyd have 2 titles as well if it werent for the cheaters up in Ft. Thomas, and the fact that all of there regional runner ups have come to really good Rockcastle teams and those were some battles.

Bell Record Points/Opp Result
2010-13-1 658-123 State Semis
2009-12-2 551-128 State Semis
2008-15-0 644-70 State Champs
2007-12-1 521-116 Regional runner up
2006-9-3 332-145 Second Round
2005-10-3 446-247 regional runner up
2004-13-1 555-101 State Semis (Highlands loss was reversed)
2003-8-2 448-135 First Round loss, only played nine games in regular season
2002-10-3 457-186 Region runner up
2001-9-4 344-205 Region Runner Up
2000-6-5 290-183 First round loss

Overall 117-25/5246 Points Scored/1639 Points gave up
Thats 36.9 Points Per Game and 11.5 Points Allowed Per Game:yikes:

One things for sure, Bells defense over the past 11 years has been the best in the mountains. There state championship team in 08 was remarkable.

Belfry Record Points/Opp Result
2010- 10-5 417-322 State Runner Up
2009- 8-4 380-223 Second Round
2008- 13-1 579-142 State Semis
2007 14-1 627-202 State Runner Up
2006 11-3 487-190 State semis
2005 11-3 516-211 State semis
2004 14-1 574-174 State Champs
2003 13-2 464-185 State Champs
2002 10-3 380-157 Region Runner Up
2001 8-5 359-239 Region Runner Up
2000 7-5 325-257 Second Round Loss

Overall 119-33/5108 Points Scored/2302 Points Allowed
Thats 33.6 Points Per Games and 15.4 Points Allowed Per Game
Post season success has come often for Belfry with two state championships and many semis and region wins.

I guess if i had to pick one, it would have to be a tie. Honestly, while i believe Bell has been better and has produced more, Belfry has more success in the post season.

Many Rebel fans would debate that one with you.

Good analysis. Bell deserves a lot of credit but I just think Belfry's holds up more because Post-Season is what matters most and has to be weighted mor than regular season wins.
