Best football program without a state title?

PHSForever Wrote:Not knocking Hazard at all. Not one bit. I'm just saying their biggest portion of their wins has come over the past 20 years (184 out of 585 counting 2010 season). So from 1926 to 1990, they won 401 games, an average of 5 per year, versus an average of 9 per year since 2000. I'd have them higher if they (as you pointed out) had a better record of just at least getting out of the semi-finals and into the finals. They are an outstanding program over the past 20 years, and I wish them much more luck (except when they play Pikeville, of course), I'm just stating my opinion, is all.

Didn"t take your comments as a knock. It appears you've done a little research, which I find very interesting. Over the years Hazard has had some very good teams and some very poor teams. I'll also add that Hazard started competing at the Class A level about 1990 more or less. Before that they always competed in AA, which from 1959 to 1975 was VERY tough. In the end, our opinions are all that we have left, haha! All due respect to you and Pikeville.
