Best football program without a state title?
#80
BlueGold1 Wrote:You obviously know very little about Hazard Football. HHS is #14 in the State in all-time wins. The only school with more wins in the list above is Somerset, who I believe is clearly the best program without a title.

The Semi-final and Final rounds are the only rounds the Bulldogs don't have as much success.

Hopefully, Hazard, Somerset and Prestonsburg will soon all be Football State Champions!
Not knocking Hazard at all. Not one bit. I'm just saying their biggest portion of their wins has come over the past 20 years (184 out of 585 counting 2010 season). So from 1926 to 1990, they won 401 games, an average of 5 per year, versus an average of 9 per year since 2000. I'd have them higher if they (as you pointed out) had a better record of just at least getting out of the semi-finals and into the finals. They are an outstanding program over the past 20 years, and I wish them much more luck (except when they play Pikeville, of course), I'm just stating my opinion, is all.
