Rockcastle may not be #1 but it is in the top 3 or 4. I definitely agree that Somerset is #1.

Can't really see that as a lock. They've been to a total of what, 4 semi-finals/finals in their history? All of it within a 10 year window or so?

Harrodsburg had just as much success without a title over a longer period of time (I don't count the Mercer Title as with Harrodsburg School as they were two separate entities).

What about Frankfort? Runner-up in '68 and '77 coupled with strong teams from the 60's till the mid 80's. Now they've had a good run in the last 6 years.

Glasgow's been to about 3 or so finals without success.

Henderson could be in the mix as well. I don't believe they've ever won the state title.

Has Shelby County ever won the state? They've had 3 or 4 state final appearances with no success. I recall one year ('77?) when they upset Danville in the Regional Final but lost by a TD to HHS (a team Danville and Chris Jones had defeated earlier in the season).

Has Hopkinsville ever won? They've been to the finals and semi-finals numerous times as well but found a HHS or a Boyle County or a Danville in their way.
