Best football program without a state title?
#69

Any title prior to 1975, in my opinion is fictious. The playoff system didn't come into existence until then. You had conferences, and bowls but no true method to determine the state champion.

For me to call a program "best" they have to have been consistent with wins since 1975. There are programs who get hot for a five or ten years then cool down. I am not counting those.

What are you talking about???

The playoff system began in 1959! The Class System was expanded after '75 from 3 Classes to 4. Stayed that way 30 years till we went to 6.

As to your last paragraph, that sums it up for me. We are looking at the BIG PICTURE here and some of these teams mentioned are nowhere close to that.
