I'm fond of some of those same Class A teams mentioned by Hoss, but they will be ranked behind the larger schools on most years based on available talent. HDE has put them basically as they were this past year...Barbourville in the lower part of the Top 10 and several others (Pineville, Middlesboro, Harlan, etc) hovering around 11 or 12 and trying to break into the rankings. It should take an exceptional Class A team (by their school's standards) to make the top 5 among the region's heavyweights on most years.

As for players, that is open to much wider interpretation, and if you read several different rankings (see the WYMT coaches poll on this site, for instance), you can likely find whatever player you want to see.
