Good post! After watching the Adidas All Star Rookie @ Sliver Medal games at Perry Central. The 13 Region has some very good young players coming up. Harlan County had 3 in the Rookie game Sergent, Brewer and Massingill. They showed some good skills and shot with range. The three looked long, fast and able to score off the dribble. " The Young Gun Trilogy" of Brewer, Sergent and Massingill, will make Harlan County, a strong contender for the 13th Region Title.
I watched South Laurel's Blake Sanders, in the Silver Medel All Star game, Sanders seemed bigger than 5' 6" looked more lik 5' 10". He showed he can shoot by hitting the pull up jumper and showed his range by hitting 4 3's in the game. He has above level ball handling skills and floor vision. I've watched Sanders, play in a couple games this year and I did'nt see this type shooting game out of him. He always seemed hesitant on shooting the ball for some reason. He showed his range and touch in this game. South Laurel, could be a very good team and win the 13th Region with Sanders, leading them.
Sanders lost the 3 point contest to Rowan County Jr, Sharpe Shooting Jason Eagan, Eagan and Sanders tied in the 1st round by hitting 10 3's, Tied in the second round by hitting 12 a piece. Sanders hit 13 in the thrid round but Eagan won by hitting 15 3's in the thrid round. Rounds were 1 min time limit.
The 13th Regions has some very good Sophomors thats going to be fun to watch in the future.
