These were LP's long before being CD's

I just assumed we were going with best albums lol
Since CD's have been released there hasn't been a lot of high quality music IMO anyway
Don't get me wrong. I listen to anything and everything....
but it just seems to me that the days of great musicians and songwriters being in the limelight are over.
Rap is 100% about having a great producer and good lyrics.
NO ONE writes their own music anymore.
Country has turned into 100% image and music is second.
And I have no idea how a "metal" band gets noticed nowadays.....
because they just tune the guitars down, play as fast as they can on drums, and scream to the same high pitched note.
I remember an episode of "Making the 'Band'" where these girls give Puff Daddy(or whatever his name was at that time) down the road because they weren't being given any good songs to sing.
For goodness sakes! What happened to writing your own songs?
