Preston:

In Preston's three years @ Bullitt East, they were 17-19, with one trip to the state championship game in his FIRST season (in which their playoff opponents had a stellar combined record of 29-20 (60%)).

In the three year's before Preston BE had a record of 24-11 with one trip to the state championship game.

I don't know the man. But by looking at this record alone, what makes you think he would do well? All I see is steady decline @ BE since he took over.

Wrong. They only state final appearance Bullitt East ever had prior to Preston's arrival was in '94.

The other sides to that are:

1) When he took over at East they started out the '08 year 1-3, before he started went from the veer to a primarily wishbone attack that year.

2) He was at Louisville Western in '06 and '07. In '06 they were a region finalist.

3) In his 3 years at Rowan County ('03, '04 and '05). He went 1-9 his first year (which was about par at that time in Rowan County), then 4-6 and 5-5 in his last year.

As far as the records of playoff teams, considering their first round opponent was a 4th seed 1-9 Atherton team (2-8 counting the forfeit from western), that beat out a 0-10 (1-9 counting the forfeit from Western) Breckinridge County team to get in, you really can't count that against East and Preston, nor any other #1 seed that has played a #4, especially a #4 from a 4 team district. I'd say 0-10, 1-9, 2-8 records from the 4th place team in 4 team districs was quite a few.
