Cincinnati's Getting A Casino!!!

Hoot Gibson Wrote:I am not really a fan of gambling. Gambling should either be legal or illegal but if it is legal, then governments should not be involved in its promotion and gambling businesses should be treated like every other business. Companies operating casinos and other gambling operations should be taxed at the same rate as any other business. At least casinos return a greater percentage of their income as winnings compared to the tax on stupidity known otherwise known as the lottery.

I personally would rather see gambling made illegal as to see government's greedy hands confiscating a big share of what should be profits or winnings. It is immoral for the government to be in the gambling business while it jails private citizens for engaging in the same sort of behavior.

Legislating morality = Big Government. Legislating morality that doesn't hurt an innocent bystander has never worked and never will. Which it usually makes laws that put's the common person in jail while someone with money, power, and privilege are allowed to do anything they want with no repercussions. I do agree with the statement about government taking too much of the winnings and profits through taxes.
