What does Belfry need to do to be able to compete with Central?

Gocolts13 Wrote:I was there in Bowling Green for the title games that Saturday and paid close attention to the Central vs. Belfry game until about halftime..it was 27-0 at half I believe, and pretty much a done deal by the half. I have great respect for Belfry's coach Haywood and his success at Belfry, but there was just nothing he could do to stop Central's Speed/Talent. The only hope for Belfry wouldve been if somehow Pond Creek Nation called up Reggie Bush, Devin Hester, and Michael Vick to put on Pirates jerseys and play the 3rd and 4th quarters. With that being said, I also gained a great respect for Central's Coach Scroggins bc if you were at the game, it was obvious Scroggins couldve had his boys put up 60-70 on Belfry. It was also a true show of class of Scroggins to pull his starters early. Wales ended up with 2,994 yards on the season, only 6 yrds away from 3,000, and Scroggins would not give the ball to Wales again in attempt to break the 3,000 yrd mark, another show of respect and class by Scroggins and Staff to the game of football and Belfry. I reviewed the roster in the program at the game, and it appears as though Central only graduates 8-9 seniors I believe, which made me VERY thankful that my hometown team isn't in class 3A. A scary fact for all 3A teams. We could all witness a serious Central 3A Dynasty in the coming years, but who knows, that's why they play the game! Best of luck to Central, Belfry, Scroggins, and Haywood in 2011..both are Top-Notch football programs, both are Top-Notch head football coaches.
Very excellent post.
