Instead of taking their name out of the NBA draft by the deadline some may decide to see if they would be drafted. They would have to consider their options stay in the draft and if they were not drafted they could apply for reinstatement provided they did not sign a contract with an agent with only a short suspension.

A player may remove there name from the draft if they realize that they might have to set out a year.


The message it would send is they have that rule in place for a reason. Everything the NCAA has said is within their rules and their punishments. The only hang up is the thing about the agent. Whether Morris had an agreement with an agent is unknown. The NCAA can't prove he did. Looking at another story earlier, Morris did not receive all the benefits someone would have if they had an agreement with the company...
