It does affect people and people are influenced by them BUT that is their own stupidity. When I see someone snorting cocaine on tv, I am not going to go out and snort cocaine. When I see a black man shoot a girl, I am not going to say Hmmm better not get around any black guys, they might shoot me. You can chose to stereotype the people you see on tv, but I choose not to. The media does not have enough influence over me to make me do anything that I don't want to do nor does it bother me of how they portray some women because it is for entertainment and the shows are funny. I loved watched Sex in the City because it was just a ground breaking show...
