Do shows like Desperate Housewives or Sex In the City place women in a negative light?

I think so.

No offense--but I seriously doubt that there are that many "housewives" in one neighborhood who sleep around, kill people, have affairs with men who kill the womans husband, keep a husband locked (in shackels) in the basement (and the kid is in on it), use sex as a tool to get what they want, etc, etc.

I try to tell my wife that shows like this just feed the myth that women are not on the same level as men--but she disagrees. I also think that shows like this glamourize trampiness--and make it seem as if it is the "right way to be" for young women everywhere.

Am I the only one that feels this way?
