Let me say this. JJ is a great kid and awesome athlete. I know him very well and he is nothing but great to everyone that treats him with respect. He is a great football player and wrestler. But I have this to say about his talent level.

I dont believe he is a D1 football player. I watched him play a couple times this year. in one game he was great in the other Sheldon Clark held him to 31 yards rushing. I know it was a home coming game for him and SCHS has a great defense but a D1 level RB has to gain over a hundred yards a game in the mountains. But saying that Channing Fuagate only gained around 50 yards against Sheldon Clark last year. So some may think he is D1 level but not me.

Now for wrestling. He is without a doubt a D1 caliber wrestler. He will be wrestling for a D1 school after next year.

I don't think Fugate had that many yards and he still did ok with college. You can not base it off from one game. I have seen SC hold several good players under their average. One was Tim Couch who lost the game by throwing an interception. He still managed to go D1 and to the NFL. SC also kept Derrick Smith from HHS from being productive too but yet someone took the chance on him as well.
