Again, you are decent people and I see your point, but we are not talking decent people here. The disipline they recieved at the hands of these men is likely the only real disipline they ever had, and it kept them from robbing,raping and stealing for a few hours a day. Maybe they left the crack pipe alone until after practice. When an animal won't mind sometimes you have to smack them around a bit to remind them who is boss. The threat of punishment is what makes the dog behave. When I was raised in the hood, I was beat up and threatened on a daily basis by thugs of every age group. We had guns at every window and door. At age 8 my dad told me to shoot to kill. This is the reality of the inner city. At age 12 I got fed up with it and began to carry a .22 pistol. When word got around that I had evened the odds the beatings stopped. These people only understand the threat of pain and bodily harm, all else is useless. This is why I must remind good people that if youv'e never lived with this it is impossible for you to understand. Just take a walk through Over The Rhine at midnight and see how far rational behavior gets you.lol!
