Your Opinion on this Video? (WARNING: Explicit Language)

jbwill2 Wrote:Well I'm a results-oriented guy, so answer me this... do you really think that this style of "discipline" and/or coaching is making these kids better in any meaningful way? Apparently, the "star" of the video (the kid who eventually signed with UF) got into trouble and couldn't continue with school. Evidently things didn't work out too well with him...

If someone can show me that this kind of behavior on the part of the coaches is doing something to help the out-of-control illegitimate birth rate, crime rate, drop-out rate, etc. seen in today's inner cities, then I may reconsider my viewpoint, but otherwise I stand by my assertion that what that coach did was nothing other than assault and battery of a likely minor.

Come on people, watch the video again... that coach physically attacked a kid. People talk about these harsh tactics being good because they're "old school." My mother, who was born in the 1930s, had a teacher who beat the students on a daily basis who were unable to answer math problems correctly. The father of one of those kids had a problem with it. Do you think he scheduled an appointment with the school's principal or site-based decision-making council? No, the kid's father showed up with an axe one day at school and told the teacher that if she kept beating his kid he'd chop her head off. Guess what, she never touched him again. Now that's "old school." If my kid was being physically assaulted by a school coach (and I don't care if I'm living in Beverly Hills or Liberty City), one of us (either me or the coach) isn't gonna make it through the week alive. You want old school, that's old school.

Very Good! :lmao:
