Can any 5A team beat Highlands?(seriously)
Hoot Gibson Wrote:Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to either of JC's games against Highlands. Most of what I know about Highlands is what I have learned on high school sports forums such as this one and the games that I am able to listen to or watch online. If Johnson Central and Highlands are fortunate enough to meet in Paintsville this season, I may take a vacation day and attend the game.

This forum represents a pretty small sample of Highlands fans, so I will admit that my impressions could be way off base. However, the impressions made here are often the only ones that many people have of a team and its supporters.

I cringe when I read stupid posts made by JC fans for that reason. Many Kentuckians had no idea where Johnson County was until a few years ago. Johnson Central has worked too hard to improve its facilities and program to have a handful of idiots project negative image of the county. I am sure that most Highlands supporters have the same feeling when one of their "bad apples" start posting here.

As for Johnson Central fans' opinion of Highlands football program, I am sure that it is overwhelmingly favorable. Who would not want their own school to have a football program like Highlands has?

As a JC fan our goal is to become State Champs and the road goes through Northern Kentucky. That being said, we know playing these Highland State Championship teams has help build our program and make it better. I for one have nothing but respect for the Highlands program and the players it has produced. Alot of posters get on here and bash on how great their teams are, Highlands does not have to talk, they can show their trophies. We will line up and comptete with you and hopefully beat you, but we will never doubt that Highlands is one of the great programs in KY.
