HHS elected to play up under the current system and was approved by the KHSAA for geographical reasons. They haven't and likely will not appeal to play up under the new realignment starting next season.

HHS' motivation for playing up a class certaily wasn't fueled by "national championship" aspirations. The class HHS plays in has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not they get national recognition. Aside from Trinity and St X, there are no other KY teams that would give them a boost by beating them.
