High school football seems to have more recruiting than college football in the present time. When I played all of our team was from within the county. What we had had coming back the next year was already there. Good, bad, talented, non-talented we played with the hand we were dealt. With Talent we were good, without talent we worked our butts off and played with more talented teams. They may have beat us but they knew they were in a dog fight. The point being is we made the best of it with what we had and we never had all these transfers mysteriously just so happening to move into the county on what was supposedly going to be a down year for us. " We got lucky boys and kid from Louisville fell out of the sky today and he runs a 4.4 40 and benches 300 lbs!" He fell right out of the sky from Louisville and landed on a football field in eastern Ky. It is funny how below average or even average kids don't mysteriously just so happen to show up 200 miles from home. The mark of a good coach is to take average talent and be competetive year in and year out. Win with average talent, be competetive with average talent. How strict is the Khsaa on these matters? Are they even looked into in eastern Ky.? Is it just a stroke of luck that a 4.4 40 kid from the city ends up in the foothills of eastern Ky.? In my opinion all head coaches should be notified by Mr.Tackett himself that such a transfer is legit.
Is eastern Ky. just too far out of the way to really even bother to check on a "out of the clear blue yonder" just so happen to show up transfer from Louisville? IMO and that's all it is THIS IS NOT LUCK. In the real world who honestly gets that lucky? It's like winning the lottery. Have you ever heard of a kid from Louisville moving into eastern Ky. who was flat out terrible and couldn't play a lick?( and you will not) When did high school football become college football? Where's the integrity? When was the standard approved that " If we don't have it, we'll go out and get it" and nothing will ever be said up in around here? A blind man could see some of these moves are not legitamate. Could it be anymore obvious in some of these situations? Are some just that lucky? If so I would like to plan a Vegas trip and I will pay their room and board, meals and all. I have named NO NAMES nor have I specificly pointed the proverbial finger at anyone to keep the integrity of this thread intact. hh::dontthink
