I am an odd cookie.
I was first registered as a Democrat in Rockcastle. I moved my registration to Adair County to vote for a Republican friend of mine. I am moving into my first home in Jamestown, Ky, so I am going to be registered there as an independent. I forgot to vote absentee, and did not feel like driving over 1.5 hours, one way, to vote.
As for the Rockcastle elections, I am fine with what happened. With Mike Peters, the sherrif, i take the philosophy of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" He did fine, I have no problem with his re-election.
As for the county-judge executive, someone or some-group has held Rockcastle back for years. The problem is that in our C-JE elections, it has been a vote of the lesser-evils instead of voting for good candidates. Buzz Carloftis is not the most beloved man in Rockcastle but the other candidate would have done the county worse. She was directly quoted in the County newspaper as saying that she was against GRANTS, not loans or debt but GRANTS, needless to say, she lost. :lmao:
Starting in early June, I will no longer live in the county so these elections do not affect/effect me.
What about you?

Well as you may know I live in neighboring Pulaski County and Our County Judge got re-elected by a mere 30.5% I did not vote for him but he'll do a fine job. The race I was most concerned about was the County Clerks race. Ralph Troxtel the incumbent defeated Lana Halcomb-Crawford. I know your probably not fimilar with him but he does not need to be in his position he has the personality of HWY 461. He raised his own salary last month to $92,000.00. That is too much for what he does. He told a personal friend of mines wife and several other ladies that work in the clerks office that on May 19 they would not have a job because they was campaigning against him. I do not know if they have been fired or if they have quit because I have not talked to him. But I don't think he needs to be in office.

We all have a right to voice opinon and choose to vote whoever we want. They was not electioneering in the court house. This particular person had signs in her yard. And let me guess if your County Clerk raised his/her salary from 65,000.00 to 92,000.00 a year you would still want them in office huh?

It's the same thing as if you owned a business, and had an employee trying to destroy your business, would you keep them?

He can't fire them for campaging against him...That would be like your employer coming and telling you that if you didn't vote for who he was going to vote for that you were going to be fired.
