A very good point. Johnson Central made it a game and Bell and Boyle is a much better team. Also I think Lex Cath is due for a great team. When they graduate as many seniors as they do, they can reload fast.

WHAT Highlands will have a hard time going to state in 4A ! Yall mountain folks take to much pride in yall teams when they are ok football teams. They would have a very easy chance on making it to state every year and they are ranked 2 in the nation and have have beat nationally rank teams.(P.S I play 4A football and no team in now 4A can beat highlands )

i disargee i think highlands would have a hard time. no lash out at highlands 21 state is amazing but the 4a is smashmouth football highland would do good but i think they would have trouble with bell .boyle and lone oak but for school like knot central ,western and lex cath would not stand a chance

Dont Lone Oak run spread
04-16-2010, 10:00 PM
Yes they do.
04-17-2010, 09:02 AM
If lone oak play western it wouldn't be a blow out because western has fast enough DBs to cover lone oaks receivers.
04-17-2010, 01:29 PM
Lone oak can also run the ball.
04-17-2010, 08:27 PM
People dont give Western enough respect on the field! You can ask any 4A Coach which team they would fear the most when it come playoff time they would say Western.
04-18-2010, 01:19 AM
Geez Cavery your killing me. Are you seriouly saying that any 4 a coach out there would rather play Boyle, Bell, Lone Oak, Lex Cath, or even Marion instead of playing Western?? People are gonna stop responding to your posts if you don't start showing a little more common sense. Everyone on here is bias towards their home team but come on !!

Who is Western?
04-18-2010, 10:21 AM
I think people are more concerned about playing Holmes than Western. As a Boyle County fan there are currently only 3 teams that worry me and they make up the rest of the big 4. Lone Oak joined that list last year and if we make it past LexCath and Bell County and if Western can defeat Lone Oak and can meet Boyle County, Bell County or LexCath in the state finals then Western will have earned my respect. Good luck this year.

From 01 to 06 Highlands couldn't win a State Championship by the 4A nobodys 4 of the 6 years. Boyle in 01,02,& 03 and Lex Cath in 05. The past is telling us that currently "nobody in 5A can beat Highlands".

That is exactly what the past is telling us.

Lone Oak is like a louisville team but they play weaker teams during district and playoff time if they were in louisville they would be ok.Boyle county cant beat cincinnati st.x can they so that means highlands will blow yall out.

Son, you might want to be stocking up on salt and pepper because you are positioning yourself to dine extensively on some crow in the fall.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Last year Highlands ran the ball more than they threw it and you are not going to beat Boyle County by running the ball. You have to be able to effectively pass the ball against Boyle Couty to beat them. While I am not saying Boyle County would have beaten Highlands, I will say it would have been much closer than you think. A Boyle victory over Highlands would not have surprised me at all. I feel Bell County and Lone Oak could have been successful against Highlands as well. Again.....I'd love to see the Rebels and Bluebirds meet up again. It'd be a good game.

UHHHHHH.....I supposrt Boyle Co. football, but come on.....a Boyle win over last years Highlands team wouldnt surprise you at a lot.lol...It would've shocked the **** outa me.
Highlands went 15-0, won their state championship game by like 45 points. Beat the #1 ranked team in the country, and finished ranked in the USA today as a top 5 team in america. The highest I can remember a KY team post Brohm and his rocks. If Boyle was to have beaten them....that would uhhh make Boyle a top 3-4 team in all of the United States......notta....
If the Highlands of 09' played Boyle of 09' ten times. IMO Highlands would win 9 of the games.

Lone Oak is nothing like a Louisville school. They dont beat ppl with 4-5 kids running 4.5's...they beat people with scheme and descipline. They have a system with his impossible to re-create during a week of practice with a scout team, and theyre extremly well coached.

They are very effective in what they do. They take what the defense gives them and works their way down the field. Then, they may go deep when you start creeping up. I was very impressed with them last year...

It's all speculation.....nobody knows what woulda happened. I, personally, would liked to have seen that game. I will say that if they tried sticking with the run, it would of been closer than anyone woulda thought... IMO
......but we will never know!

First off, I never would have thought a Boyle County supporter would have admitted to being intimidated by the name of the school on a jersey. Now that shocks the *##* out of me.
Secondly, they beat the team that was ranked #1 in the country at the time. It was proven throughout the course of the year that Cincy St. X may have been a little overrated.
Thirdly, how are these nationwide polls produced anyways? Oh, that's right....by reputation because we all know that the people that pick these polls don't watch all the teams that are ranked in these polls. Chris Collinsworth mentions Highlands on Sunday Night Football so they must be one of the top 25 teams in the nation. Sure. I bet there are 25 teams in Florida, Texas and California that can beat our top 5 teams by 2 touchdowns. That Bluebird kool aid that you are drinking sure must be good.
Lastly, as I have said before. Boyle County is 2-2 against Highlands and last year Boyle County had the best defense in the state. Better than Highlands, better than Louisville St. X. We also had Rees MacShara who was not stopped by anyone last year. I can't in good faith concede victory to Highlands 09' just because they won state in 5A and because they were publicized. Their rb had a bad cased of fumbilitis last year and I have a hard time believing Boyle couldn't have forced a turnover or two. Like Sportzanimal said, we'll never know but I can't concede victory to Highlands because of their reputation. Their team had the exact same make up as ours. Aside from their resume why on earth do you think they would beat Boyle 9 of 10 times?

To say that Highlands could beat Boyle 9 outta 10, you must have more to base your opinion on. Right? It's all hearsay. Plus, like PP92 said, I wouldn't concede victory to them. Don't think the players would either or like that their 'supporters' would.
Based on what you stated, then Cincy StX could beat Highlands 9 outta 10 times. We all know, though, that it only takes 1 game. 1 game to make your season and 1 game to break your season. So, who says Boyle could not had been that 1 game for Highlands? Not ME....

I think lawrence co. Got to be put up there and the kiser kid is going to turn out to be a heck of a qb and with the athlete shepard is. Think your all gonna see something special from these two. And shepard gonna find his calling in football catching the ball instead of throwing it. Or thats what i would do if i were coach. Looking forward to a bright future at lawrence co.
