So let me see if I understand you. Louisville Western is and was better than Boyle, Bell, Lone Oak, Lex Cath, Marion and so on.....

Listen Cavery59, I like having you on here. I really enjoy listening to a student ath. point of view. But you have to start using some common sense. Western had a pretty good season but they were not better than those who went more rounds in the playoffs. The teams that you say suck are the teams that Lone Oak had to go through to get to the finals. So how can they have a harder road to the finals. The last 3 state champs have been Lex Cath, Bell and Boyle. They have to go through each other every year. Again, I like talking with you but please start using some common sense.

Boyle and Lex Cath are hardly Eastern Kentucky.

What's more they and Bell rarely, if ever, go to a wishbone formation.

So a team (Western) that has never been to a State Title game is a better program than Boyle (6 State Titles), Lex Cath (2 State Titles) & Bell (2 State Titles)?

Someone needs to get beyond their little piece of KY once in a while. :eyeroll:

I never said that western is better than them 4 .I got mad when they said Bell,Boyle,Lex Catholic are in a another level than the rest of 4A. Because that NOT TRUE

Dude you sound really stupid....

Marion beat Western last playoffs, and the game wasnt even that close, Western just got some big plays on special teams early that mad the scoreboard tight for a little bit.

Anyone who believes that any 4A team in anywhere near the level of Boyle, Lone Oak, Lex Cath, and Bell is crazy. Maybe one year hear or there someone will challenge them, but theyre so much better programs as a whole, top to bottom than everyone else.

Western is a second string 4A program, theyre usually ranked in the top 10. You can compare them, and put them in the same group as Marion, Fairdale, Bullit East, Lawrence Co, Knox Central, Rockcastle. All of which are traditionally good teams, but are just a nudge down the totem pole come playoff team.

BTW, 4A region 4 might be the most fun region to watch in the state after 6A East End of Louisville.

Bell Co- Brings back everything, and could rank in the top 5 all classes.

Rockcastle Co- Clark Rowe is a man-child.

Knox Central - Return theyre leading Passer/Rec/ Top 4 tacklers.

Lawrence Co- QB comes back after good soph. season, over 2,000 yards rushing is back.

Rowan Co. - Darrell Cross is maybe the second fastest player in the state, QB Wing passed for over 1,000 yards as well.

no order, but 4A region 8 IMO has 5 top 10 teams.

I will agree with you for now. Rockcastle County's tradition is probably a little better than Marion, Fairdale and Bullitt East. However, with that said, tradition will not add a single win to anyone's schedule. The past 2 or 3 years Rock has been REALLY down. The Rock is no longer hard, it is starting to crumble. I will argue that for most of the 90's and 2000's Rock was in the same class as Boyle, Bell and Lex Cath. Will Rock ever get back? Who knows? But for quite a while they were part of the 4-Horsemen of 4A (Bell, Boyle, Lex Cath, Rockcastle)

Bell Co vs Lone Oak in the finals in my opinion. How many did Boyle loose last year?

My Priorities are:
1)God
2)Family
3)Cougar Athletics!

Everything else doesn't matter![/COLOR]

I wonder if Rowan County is supposed to be so good, how come their coach was a finalist for the Madison Central job. Looks like he would have wanted to stay around for the show this fall.
#43
It wasn't CLOSE ! You must be on something because they only beat us by a touchdown . We would have won but these are the reason why we lost 1. We miss so many extra points 2. We fumble the ball with 4 min to go on the 50 yard line. 3. they ran bone formation that ate up all the clock there drives were almost 8 min long. They weren't better than us we just beat are self !!!!!!!!!!
#44
I agree with the top four, but IMO East Jessamine might be able to crack the top 10 this season. Just my opinion
#45
Lets see,Lexington Cath. won 3 years ago, then it was Bell Co. and last season Boyle won,so it time for Lone Oak for 2010 to bring one home.
Anyway you cut it those 4 teams are the best in 4A.

I agree...There are 4 teams that play at a higher level: Boyle Co, Bell Co, Lone Oak, LexCath.... No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Rockcastle Co, Western, and Lawrence Co will probably lead the 2nd-tier teams

Little coaching tip my friend. If the other team keeps mounting 8 minute drives on your team then your getting BEAT. You are not beating yourself !!!

Rowan doesnt have a big history of winning, Coach Brown has put together a couple of solid seasons.

Madison Central is an elite job in KY, Its not StX, or Highlands, but IMO it one of the better jobs in the state.

cougarpride08 Wrote:Bell Co vs Lone Oak in the finals in my opinion. How many did Boyle lose last year?

Boyle loses 6 on offense and 4 on defense.

We may not score as quickly as we did last year but I expect an above average offense and I believe our defense will be even better this year. I honestly don't expect any fall off at any position except for running back, obviously.

Replacing Rees MacShara is something that will take multiple rb's. We will also be replacing 3 offensive lineman but I expect the replacements to be every bit as efficient as their predecesssors.

As far as defense goes we return all of our linebackers and both corners and Paul Megilligan on the defensive line. Expect another stingy Boyle County defense.

Rees played one if the CBs...

That's right. I was thinking about Devin Cox and Jarod Harrington starting at corner this year. I forgot that Rees started at corner last year.

I would agree with the above statement!

I have heard it is very likely that Highlands will come to 4A at the next realignment. I'd like to see that. It's surprising that the talk isn't of them moving up to 6A.

I just don't think that Highlands will be in 4A there will have to be more NK schools sropping for that to happen they won't because of the travel. IMO

that is one thing that gets brought up. also why would highlands want to drop down in classes? they wouldnt benefit from it on the national scene. sure they "theoretically" would have an easier time winning state championships, but i would think they are just as concerned with their national image as well. if anything i think they would like to move up so they can play trinity and st. x to prove they are the best in the state.

if i was them i would not want to see dave cantralls ratings come out next year with st. x and trinity ranked above them. i think they clearly proved they were the class of the state and they get hosed in that rankings. i would be out to prove something.

cougarpride08 Wrote:Bell Co vs Lone Oak in the finals in my opinion. How many did Boyle loose last year?

It could very well be a Bell and LO final, all 4 are tight.LO will come out of the West to meet one of the big 3 from the East.Right now I think it will be Bell, but you can never count Boyle and LC out.JMO
#57
I think Bell County will have to come to Lawrence County for the regional and if that happens there could be an upset like Breathitt in years past.
#58
You know what, I just look up and saw this thread is about 2011, not 2010,and I have no idea about 2011.

I'm not to sure Highlands would have an easier time in 4A. They would have to contend with Lexington Catholic, Boyle and Bell County just on the East side of the bracket. Currently in 5A Johnson Central has been their biggest threat and Boyle and Bell beat them pretty easily last year.
