That is amazing!! So happy what attention this team is getting now!!! I love it and it is really well deserved. Thanks for the link and information!!

Second year in a row a KY team has finished in the top 50.

I believe Holmes finished 26th last year.

Congrats SV

Which one is more creditable, the rival site or the maxpreps site. I think Max preps has Valley as the 87 team in the nation and 3rd in the state, which is a little weird if you ask me.

Rivals is way more creditable. It is the #1 recruiting website, and College sports website.

This is another great acomplishment for Shelby Valley.

Maxpreps Xcellent 25 is as credible as they come...it's the freeman ratings that they use to get the state rankings that are a joke.

So you think that Maxpreps is a little more of a realistic ranking. I kind of do see that Valley is 87th because Ballard and Scott really were the two most complete and solid teams. But as the saying goes "that is why they play the game". I think that the Cats belong around 3rd in the state with no competition but they still and will always have a claim for the top spot. Especially on that one faithful night.

Maxpreps Xcellent 25 combines both human and computer ratings which is why it's a little more realistic.

When you look at their state rankings, however, those are only computer ratings which is why they aren't as credible as the Maxpreps Xcellent 25 NATIONAL poll.

Rivals rankings go more on who plays on your team and how highly touted you are. Still a reasonable ranking system, but I think once it gets outside of the top 25, it becomes a crapshoot.

Congrats to SV on a unforgettable season, way to close out some very good high school careers, to finish the year as ALL A State champs, Sweet Sixteen KY State Champs and in the top 50 in the nation. (WOW) This was one of those years, it's been along time coming with alot of hard work for these boys and to be honest I'm afraid that I'll never see it again in my life and if not I'll always be able to say( I remember when) and very thankful that I was there to witness the first one along with a little bit of basketball history.

I also want to say congrats to Ballard, I think they had them listed in the top 100 at (82).
