15th Region 2010/11

Pride and Football Wrote:How many players is S. Valley losing??
They are losing Elisha Justice, Cody Varney, Tyler Newsome, Taylor Newsome, Tanner Tackett, Ashley Hatfield, Dillon Tackett, Johnathan Burger, and possibly Zach Ramey (was homeschooled, elegbility issues i believe).
So they are losing thier starting 5, as well as thier 6th and 7th men on the bench. Its gonna be a tough blow for Valley. I haven't saw anything out of the younger reserves to make me think they will do anything much at all, but you never know I don't guess. If Booher stays to coach, it could make a big difference as well, as he has done an excellent job of coaching at SV. As for incoming freshmen, I'm not sure, but Valley often times has transfers come to play basketball.

15th Should be wide open next season.

So, where's he going now?
#34
Ther will be 1 or 2 teams come out of the summer as the favorites. Some will mature in physical strength and confidence. Lets wait and see who decides to put for the effort it takes to take that step forward...

Johnson Central was the most taltnted team in the reigon this year behind SV. JC's biggest problem is that they don't show up at the gym every game ready to play. That leads to inconsistency which evwentually leads to being unsuccessful which eventually leads to losing to SC in the district which should have been embarassing
#36
I think that Belfry, LC, and JC may be the class of the region next year.
#37
It will certainly be different seeing a 15th region without Shelby Valley as a serious contender.

Seeing how the Valley team does over summer I think that they may have potential to get back to the top of the region.

Top 3 is Betsy layne, Pikeville, and Johnson Central. with east ridge next

I think the region will be a toss-up next season, everyone basically new that they were playing for second this year. I believe a suprise team could be Pike Central if they make the changes that need to be made because the have some talent not loaded but some.

Central is 2-3 years away from competing for a top 5 spot talent wise..........

.

how many Ts did he get this year?or when he made a bad pass did he always hustle back down the floor?or when he drove to the basket an didnt get the foul call, did he mope back down the floor? just because you can jump doesnt make you a basketball player and hes sure not a team player the way he pouts.maybe coach runyon will go pet on him some more to get him to stay cause hes just another player with a bad attitide any team.

as far as the tigers gettn better in the years to come maybe you shouldnt put all your eggs in one basket in case you drop it.so if tiller leaves so what cauldwell an dainels quit 2 starters and i think the roof on the gym didnt collapse.maybe ratliif should run some type of offense instead of telling his players tiller has to get his.seemed that he tried to get his evry game and it just didnt work out.take a look at the lc game at home this year.tiller out early in the first tigers take the lead by 12.tiller back in the 3rd lead dwindles to 6 untll hes taken out again.back in at the end of the 3rd lead cut to 2 and tiller misses a wide open dunk.did he go for the rebound?no he mopes and commits his 4th foul.lc ties the game.i beleive we know the outcome of the game and season trying to play this style.do i blame tiller?no!! its the coaches fault.if you shoot 15-20 times agame and have 5-6 turnovers and can only score 12-13 points mediocrity is already here.:flush:

Don't sleep on Belfry or East Ridge. But the 15th next season will be very exciting because there is no clear cut favorite.

most schools after winning big games experienced kids transfering in to play at that school .Valleys hay days is come to the top and I look for kids to continue to move to that school just to play for those coaches . Sure this is just one group of players but they were winning before Coach Booher . Some of these kids were winners of state championships in middle school .Their middle schools have good coaches. They have a peewee league there that starts their kids young. Rowe was winning and if Booher leaves or goes. That seed will be there for years. Valley looses a lot but new players will come, Through Virgie, Dorton, Millard , Elkhorn, Pikeville or even some other High School or county or state. But those coaches born an raised in the Valley will always be there. And that desire to win will always be with those coaches. Who haved ruled the 15th region in the last 8 years. They have had different players and coaches to win it all in that region. They just know what it takes to win the state now.So a good coach could and its not impossible to be right back there next year. With the boys sitting alot on the bench this year they could still beat most teams around. And put the big kids from their feeder schools and the transfers .They may win it all in the region for years to come.

I dont think you should sleep on valley. Of course they are losing the top 7, but the players behind them practiced against those guys every day. Shouldnt that make them better? I say valley wins the district and plays in the region finals. Maybe they could 3 peat and return to rupp.

Skaggs and Bradley are the only experienced players LC is returning.

I agree! You do have give them a little credit to be competitive. I think that they will hover around 3-4 in the region.

i think east ridge would be a good fav becouse they have size coming back and some good guards to put with the size

Who does the Warriors have coming back? I really hope that they can make the district really competitive.

Have not seen much on Pikeville for 2010-11. Any predictions?

Your right I have not seen much on them either. I have looked at most of the teams for next year, and I would have to say Pikeville would have to be one of the best in the region next season. All kinds of experience and good bench to return....

Belfry looks like they will be strong next year too. They will have some height and a few experienced players who can play. Look for some kids to come to Belfry from across the river too.

No kids form across the river at any school other than MAYBE Tug Valley can come and get PT.

Belfry is loaded with upcoming Sophs., got 2 very good players who are going to be JRs, and a Sr class that is very good too.

They also have the best player no one has heard about in Tony Messer, the only Fresh. that is better than him is Tiller.

Belfry sounds pretty solid. I would love to see them up there in the main top of the region.

East Ridge could be a good team if they had good guards. The big boy is the only decent player they have. He cant bring the ball up the floor. Good guards will eat them alive. Also, the big guy has an attitude and gets mad when post players beat and bang on him. He has to change that in order to be a good player.
#57
Every bit of East Ridge' success will depend upon their attitude and mentality, moreso than their talent. East Ridge has one very young player to keep an eye on, a kid with the last name of Justice, reminds me of another Justice who was once in the 59th district.

Who does Pike Central have besides Hobo McCoy that will be playing?
#59
i think prestonsburg can be in the top 3 in the region
they get back blackburn (senior), williams (sophmore), s. carter (senior), c. carter (senior) and petry (senior)

Pike Central is an unknown at this point, they lost all scoring other than Hobo.

PC's 7th grade class is as talented and has as much potential as anyone in the 15th Region but there are to many questions surrounding the future of the program that need answered at this point.
