16th Region Coaches for next year???
#1
I was just wonderin....do you think there will be any more "new" coaches coming into the region next year?

Throughout the 16th Region....who will be in and who will be out?

Anybody got any ideas?

Funny that a Morgan fan says that. Ive heard that they may be some pressure on the coach @ Morgan.........To leave or step down a change @ the school board maybe the reason just wondering is this true Morganfan22, beside that Boyd, Greenup, and Lawernce Co in the 15 region.

yeah.....i don't really know. I was wonderin' the same about the coach @ Morgan Co. I was hoping that someone on here would know something. I do know that there has to be some kind of pressure going on right now. From going to a team that has ALWAYS been a threat to the 16th Region, to a team that has been a weak team for these past two years. Since the class of '07, this team hasn't really done much.

Morgan County is like most programs in the area their talent level goes in cycles. It may very difficult for loyal Morgan County fans to realize this but it happens. The last group of true athletes was in 2006 when the program went 22-4 and lost in the district opener to West Carter. The program's resurrenge I believe is totally dependent on the student-athletes taking advantage of every opporntunity to better themselves (ex. include weightlifting, skill development, & playing games during the summer & off-season). As far as pressure on Coach Perry @ Morgan, I not aware of it. If a change occurs in the near future, it will in my opinion be Coach Perry's decision. The man bleeds "blue" & gives every ounce of himself to the program and those kids. My sources tell me he is very active in the Middle School program and the Youth league. In addition, he also donates time to work individually with any kid who wants to get better regardless of their age. I would think the students and members of the community would appreciate the time and devotion he puts into the programs. Ask anyone else on this site if their coach donates time to oversee the whole program and you will probably get "NO" as the response.

Perry has tried to leave on his own the last 2 seasons but can't find another coaching job. Was a finalist last year at Fleming when they hired Kelly.

yeah I remember Perry possibly going to Fleming last year...and remember when Johnson Central was looking at him at one point. It will be interesting if he possibly looks to go anywhere...like anymore possibly positions opening up??

Morgan County talent dried up a few years back, and they have struggled in every boys sport besides tennis.

The last couple of years though, the basketball team has been very bad.

Of course Greenup and Boyd will have new coaches. But idk of any other school after them.

Hicks has done his best to get another job, so Bath may be open if he lands one.
