Just wanted to say congrats to South Floyd Lady Raiders and Head coach Tony Isaac, asst. coach Ricky Ward and Scotty Stanley who finished the year with the best record in school history @ 15-11. In fact they were the only team in SF history to have a winning record. Huge improvement from last years 9-17 record and 07/08's 6-19 mark. They also finished with the best conference record in school history @ 6-2. The first girls team to ever sweep AC and Prestonsburg in the same year in school history. The lady Raiders got only their 4th & 5th wins against AC in school history. 2nd girls team @ SF to make it to regional tournament. Most players ever selected to Floyd County's all conference team with 4. Most wins in a row with 8. Six different players lead the team in scoring during the season. 1st team @ SF to score more points than allowed by opponents in a season. Most wins at home in a season with 8. At the end of the regular season SF lady Raiders were tied with third most wins in the region. All this and the lady Raiders failed to get to make up two home games due to bad weather.
I sure there will be much debate and are other deserving candidates, but Tony Isaac has my vote for 2009-2010 15th region coach of the year.

Congrats to the Lady Raiders and Coach Isaac. I thought they had an outstanding year and I agree Sniper, Coach Isaac would get my vote for coach of the year. He has done an outstanding job with these girls over the past couple of seasons. I look for some good things out of this team in the next few years.

I got to watch these young ladies play in the opening round and couldn't help but cheer for them. They showed great determination and heart in that game. If they played that way all year I can understand why you are proud of them! Congratulations on all your accomplishments young ladies.

With all that being said, it is also time for these girls to move beyond being satisified with just "being there" and strive to win the big games. The nucleus of this team is still young and there is a lot of potential, but they need to set their sights on bigger and better outcomes.
