Johnny Damon and the Detroit Tigers are apparently getting close to signing a deal, according to FOXSports.
Recent rumors have had it that the Tigers are offering the 34-year-old outfielder two years and $14 million, though it seems strange that the team would offer that much dough to a player that no other team is coming too hard after.
The Atlanta Braves have apparently not made much more effort than it did last week when it supposedly offered up a phone call from Chipper Jones and $4 million for one year.
The Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays also apparently had some interest in Damon but nothing as serious it seems as the Tigers.

As a tigers fan, I'm glad to see this happen. This should help the Tigers.
