Actually, you'd be wrong. Valley has played several teams on their schedule better than whoever the best team is that Lawrence has played so far. Christian Co., Knott Central, Clay Co., University Heights, DeSales, plus at least 3 of the 4 out-of-state teams they've played. SV's overall schedule is not as challenging as those of most of the other state contenders, but it's easily more difficult than Lawrence's.
Lawrence's toughest two games on their schedule are still to come. They play at Pikeville later this week, and their toughest game will be in a couple weeks against... well, Shelby Valley.

Pssst... Look a little bit closer, and you'll see that the majority of Shelby Valley fans actually fall into that category.

Just ask a few of them on here if they really think Valley is probably going to win the state title. I sure don't.

Oh geez... :eyeroll:
You can't be serious, SV barely got by East Ridge? They won by 27 at ER, and you call that barely getting by? Wow.
Look, you guys beat East Ridge by 40+ points at home, congrats. So you've proved you're way better than ER. Most people around the 15th agree that you guys are the 2nd best team in the region, at worst 3rd best behind Pikeville (the game later this week will better tell that tale). But just because you beat East Ridge by a larger margin than Shelby Valley, does not automatically mean Lawrence is better than SV.
Besides, seeing as how Lawrence has already lost to a 7-9 Sheldon Clark team a couple weeks ago, the Dawgs better make sure they can get out of their own district first, before worrying about Shelby Valley.

Can LC beat SV? Who knows, we will find out soon enough, but even then it will be AT valley, which will be a feat in itself... Can anyone from the 15th beat SV? Who knows, but, personally, I can see a much improved JC team giving them all they want come tournament time if that is the way it plays out this year.

I agree next year the 15th will be the most competitave from top to bottom as its been in a long time with that said Valley will still be one of the top 4-5 teams in the 15th.
As a Shelby Valley fan and a very big one at that. They may lose to Perry but thats realy the only test they will have untill the sweet 16. Lawrence is one of the better teams not named Shelby Valley in the region. But Valley will win by 20-25 points.

Like I said... no world beaters, good teams yes, world beaters no. I wasn't, for a second, saying LC had a tougher schedule than SV, but it's not like SV has played the top teams in the state either...

Loves how everyone has pretty much gave SV the 15th. The same thing was said last year but they had a tough last two games. They played Johnson Central and Lawrence County. Lawrence was right there until the 4th quarter then there lack of a bench hurt them. But the bench thing is fixed this year and plus they have got more athletic. Honestly I think LC will lose at Valley. But 15th region tourney time I think they will come out on top if they get a draw like they did last year.

all of this hype is gonna get to valley's head come
tournament time. i look to see a huge upset in the 15th.
its gonna leave valley wondering "who let the dawgs out!"

LC will easily be the second best team in the region....but at least 20 points behind Valley. Could LC really hang with a team like Cristian Co.

There are plenty of level-headed Shelby Valley fans on this site, you're just choosing to ignore them. I do note that you have changed your original statement, though. At first you had said that all the SV fans are ready to give them the state title (which is untrue), now you just say they are giving them the regional title. The second statement may be true, but that is a far cry from what you said earlier.
Does SV have the 15th wrapped up? Of course not, any team can be beaten, including SV. But they are a solid favorite to repeat, and any unbiased observer would have to recognize that.

Christian County is a Top 10 team on pretty much any poll or computer ranking you will find.

I really like the chances that the cats have downstate, with playing a game like that against a top 5 team in the state.

They were without Shaquille Wilson for that game. Then again, I didn't expect you to know that.
I just have to say, the arrogance of Lawrence County fans is astounding. No team in the 15th has came within single digits of Shelby Valley in how long?
I'm not saying Shelby Valley can't lose to Lawrence County, but I'd be willing to bet they won't come within sigle digits, and that is common sense talking.
I love how I noticed one fan from Lawrence say "Hey oh SV barely got by East Ridge and the Lawrence JV team beat ER Varsity by over 40 points."
That is maybe one of the funniest things I've seen. You want to compare scores from similar opponents? What about Lawrence Co. losing to Sheldon Clark by 5 and Shelby Valley beating Sheldon Clark by a mere 62. But I suppose that Shelby Valley BARELY got by them too right? :thatsfunn

and how much did sv lose by? you think those 10 points didnt make a world of difference?

This thread is nuts. I think that most of the SV will agree with you LC fans in saying that yes Valley could go down ANYTIME, but until they actually meet you can say for sure how close they are. My unbiased opinion is that they are not even 15 points close to them... I swear unless LC can break the press and keep their turnovers down they would be like any other team in the state that Valley plays.

. What has Lawrence accomplished to be even compared to Valley. let alone beat them?

I guess we should just ignore all those statewide polls of media members and coaches, and throw out all those computer ratings. Even though they all have Christian County as a consensus top 10 team in the state, you guys obviously know better, that they aren't a top team after all...

How is it trying to discredit East Carter's win by stating fact? Shaquille Wilson did not play in that game, thus the team they beat was not at full strength.
