Not really sure where to start as this game was all Holmes from the tip.

Pittman scored on Holmes first possession and then Scott tied it at 2-2 but it'd be all Holmes from here on out. Pittman had 10 of Holmes first 12 points, including a monster 2 hand dunk over Neideregger to Put Holmes up 12-2. Scott would score 4 of the next next 6 points to close to within 14-6, but once again, Holmes would go on another run. Holmes scored the final 4 points of the first quarter, including another 2 hand dunk, and the Dogs led 20-6 after 1.

Second quarter it was more of the same. Holmes started the second quarter on a 7-0 run that was capped by another Pittman alley oop dunk. For whatever reason, the ref called a tech after the Pittman dunk for supposedly hanging on the rim (Bogus call that even the Scott fans laughed about) and the run would end with 2 Kellen Smith free throws to close the gap to 27-8. Scott scored again to make it 27-10 but a Rice 3 pushed the lead to 30-10. Both teams traded baskets once again, but with Holmes leading 35-13,, they'd close the half on a 9-3 run that was capped by a Pierrer Mayfield 3 at the buzzer to send Holmes in to the locker rooms up 44-13.

Third quarter Scott came out and pressed but Holmes shredded it. During the run, Willie Slusher threw one down hard with the left on a breakaway. With Holmes up 48-19, Pittman got another alley oop dunk and his day would be finished with the Dogs up 50-19. With the score 52-21, Holmes went on a 12-0 run to push their lead out to 64-21. The run was highlighted by two Jeremiah Johnson dunks on breakaways. Scott outscored Holmes 6-3 the rest of the quarter though, including a 3 by Kellen Smith at the buzzer, to send the game in to the 4th with Holmes up 67-27.

Holmes played the entire 4th quarter with their underclassmen, other than Avery who is still trying to get back in to the swing of things after the foot injury. Dogs played McClendon, Hayes, Gray, Herndon, and Avery until the 5 minute mark when Reese and Mayfield came in for Herndon and Hayes. At the 2:05 mark, both benches were cleared with Holmes up 73-40. Scott left their starters in until this point. Both teams traded backets the last two minutes to give you the final of 77-44.

Didn't see Holmes winning by so many. Last year was a very close game that Scott should have won. The Ryle game seems to be a blessing for the Bulldogs........... Looking at the score, this looks to be Holmes most complete game of the season.

Holmes put together a complete game against Cooper too.

Biggest difference is Henley is finally letting the boys get out and run so they're having more fun with the offense. Proof is in the numbers the past two games. It also doesn't hurt that Pittman is playing a lot more focused and playing line a man among boys down low.

They also seem to have found their solution at PG. Herndon started in place of J. Johnson tonight and did a very good job bringing the ball up and getting the offense started. Hayes and Herndon have both stepped up big lately.

Holmes is starting to put all the pieces together. Have to continue to play with the same intensity every game though. If they do, NOBODY in the state can touch them. I feel confident in saying that after the way they've played the past two nights.

Finally, a very solid win by the Dogs

Congrats Bulldogs!

Holmes led by as many as 43 in this game before putting the bench players in. It's one thing to do that to a team like Cooper, but this is the same Scott team that beat Male and Perry Co Central.

They sent a message to the rest of nky and the state tonight. That Ryle loss seems to have waken them up.

The dogs looked great tonght. Ricardo still seems to be taking a backseat however. He had 4 again tonight, Pittman is just a force and hard to be stopped by anyone. If Holmes can play like this they can beat anyone. I took some kids out to the game tonight just to watch and have a little fun and Holmes definitly put on a show for them.

I'll be watching. It was a highlight reel lol

I am surprised, but not surprised in a way to see Holmes win by so many. Scott has a good team and Holmes usually isn't a team that doesn't fill it up on the scoreboard no matter who they play. By looking at the numbers, it looks like the Bulldogs got a number of guys involved with the offense and also played great on the defensive end (as they always do).

Very good win for Holmes.

Nice photos kywldcat. What grade is Slusher? He looks to be an athletic prospect.

Impressive win for Holmes...

lol yea it was definetly a highlight reel....I believe Pittman had 4 dunks, JJ had 2 and Slusher had 1.

Too bad Rice couldn't throw one down on the break away...lol would've been his first ever varsity dunk.
#18
When Slusher got his dunk Pittman was running stride for stride with him and wanted to add some footage to his highlight tape but realized it was Slusher's first time at a breakaway so he fell back and let the young man take flight lol.

K. Rice also had an chance at a breakaway and clanged it off the back iron.

Someone for Scott had a chance too, but it winded up being one of those Sprite commecials lol

Slusher is a senior. Started JV last year and played sparingly at the varsity level because of the kids who were in front of him.

Always been a nice talent but overshadowed because of the talent Holmes has had.

The kid from Scott was Jake Neideregger. He had a dunk against Holmes last year. Very athletic kid.

They have been playing with a purpose since the Ryle game, now granted it was Cooper and Scott, but they have played extremely well on both ends of the court, even there half court game seems to be making since, not that stuff we were watching earlier this season, and they cant go wrong right now when they get it in to 24.

They need to stop trying to win games by playing in the 50's. Open the offense up. This is what they should be doing. I won't put any credence into the Cooper game. Come on guy's, let's face it, Cooper provides us ZERO bearing that the Dogs were back, ZERO! Now this game, against a quality team, a Quality Player - Smith, and a Quality Coach - Carr, is a legit guage. So, after one legit game since the Ryle game, they have started something that could carry them on.

Agreed, notice how much I posted after the cooper game, not much, but it was good to see them playing this style of game. This is 2 in a row, hopefully they can keep it rolling, Warren Central and Highlands coming up should be a good way to guage this team.
