4 teams that rock has played are now in the state Semi Finals. Pulaski In 5A. Bell and Boyle in 4A, and they scrimaged Hazard.

Rockcastle will IMO be district runner-ups,and real possible regional contenders......Rockcastle has not had a 1,000 yard passer since Matthew Burkhart that threw over 2,000 in 05, until Bishop came slight over in 2009 with 1,009 yards passing, Bishop is graduating with over 60 yards shy of 3,000 career passing yards.......Rockcastle will gain mometum in the running game by double digits than passing for the first time since 2006 as district foes Knox Central and Bell County come to the ROCK.

That will help Rockcastle next season. Do you have a schedule yet? The official one is not out yet probably, but some games are for sure like Madison Southern, McCreary Central, Bell, Knox, etc... are we in contract with any of the teams from this year still?
Basically, what teams do we KNOW will be on the schedule and how many of those games are at home?

The next 3 games is un-telling though but overall I see in the regular season outcome either 7-3 or 8-2 then possibly making it to regional finals.

Here is deff stats from some returning playeres in 2010 .
This is tackels and assisted tackels combinde.
Saylor 68
Rowe 32
Baker 35
Bradley 77
Tomason 58
The rock will lose six staters on deff and off side of the ball that will be very hard to replace but we have alot off young kids that are very talented and athletic. Hope they have more leadership in 2010 if not it will be a long year .We will only have six seniors on 2010 team with only 3 of them that started in 2009 they are Saylor Baker and Dillon Thacker.

Rock will have a geat year and finish 2 in Dist. Parkey is a good coach and will get Rock on Track to contend for a Regional Championship.

Rockcastle will be for a challenge of "rebuilding mode" from this point on hitting August. Big changes can happen, new admirations, new goals, new rules, new discipline, new achievements. I will finish the spring semester at SCC with over 60 plus college credit hours and will possibly consider getting a assistant coaching position to help the runningbacks, and I want to experiment trial and error with the special teams because I honestly think we may have some good speed and importantly depth.
01-19-2010, 10:02 AM
I don't see the Rockets being the team they were in 09. They loose their best OL/DL lineman, best defensive player and QB. Seems Coach Parkey has his work cut out for him.
01-19-2010, 12:19 PM
What do they have with the younger players coming up? Were the freshman and JV teams good? It looked like they still had a young team last year. I'm sure they will be right there when all is said and done next year.
01-19-2010, 12:24 PM
I see Rock finishing 3rd in the district next year behind Bell and Knox. They will have there work cut out for them.
