Are they at home next week?

Great win for Prestonsburg. Michael Burchett played one of his best games of the year tonight. The Corbin defense put a lot of pressure on Burchett and made him get out of the pocket and throw on the move, in which Burchett done an excellent job of tonight. The sheer speed of this Blackcat team was the biggest advantage in this game. The Corbin offensive and defensive lines were much bigger, but were fatigued long before the P'burg line was.
Caleb Watkins is a special player and has been probably the biggest part of Corbin's success this season. I thought he ran hard, tough, and about as good as he could against the Blackcats. P'burg just sealed the middle and made it hard for Watkins and Fritz to get any kind of rhythm running the ball.
Congrats Blackcats and good luck against DeSales next week!

Michael Burchett - 20/33 254 yds 3 tds
Prestonsburg played great on defense! They are just great at creating turnovers as they've done it all season against every team. Corbin ran the ball well, but just as the entire season has gone, the Blackcat defense will bend but they will NOT break. Prestonsburg's offense did their thing, although I didn't agree with the playcalling the entire time, but we always made a play. Great overall performance from Prestonsburg.
Great season Corbin... you guys have one heck of a team and have some special players.
CONGRATS BLACKCATS!!!

Great win for the Cats against a big, physical Corbin squad. If someone had told me yesterday that we would hold Corbin to 7 points, I would have laughed in their face. The interior defense for Prestonsburg played very, very well. Alex Griffith and Austin McKinney were huge, as always, but the Blackcats got outstanding play from their down defensive linemen, Alex Garner, Max Turner, and Chris Cook.
Great win for the Blackcats.

Watkins is a Hoss Cat. Great game but the Blackcats wore the Hounds down. I'm glad the Cats won. Great team effort!!!! To those young people in Allen Central, South Floyd, Betsy Layne, and Shelby Valley jackets at the game, thank you. You exemplify class with your support of the Blackcats. It will not be forgotten by the fans and players.

First I want to congratulate the Blackcats on being Regional Champions.. Way to go, but I have to say, I was diappointed in the offense tonight.. Corbin fumbled three times and the Blackcat offense couldn't convert. They turned it over on downs more tonight than they did the whole season. Defense won this game.. HAIL BLACKCATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree. We've got to be able to convert on the opponents turnovers. But hey, they say defense wins championships!

Honestly...did anyone think our defense would hold Corbin to 7 points? I felt all along that the Cats would win, but was expecting a shootout.
Personally, I think the Cats came out TOO hyped up. It took them awhile to find their rhythm, and when they did, the offense looked good. But, I suspect Corbin's defense had a little to do with that,too...
The theme for this game, as pointed out by oneijoe, was "Who's defense could limit the other team's offense?" Yep, the Cats answered that question.
Corbin's defense did some good things, too. I think I heard that Prestonsburg had 9 total rushing yards for the game. Ugh. But when you consider that we had 3 TD passes that were dropped/overthrown, we could have put 40 plus on the board. That is an amazing statistic, considering the 9 yards rushing...
BUT...Prestonsburg needs to establish some semblance of a running game against Desales in order to advance to Bowling Green.

prestonburg plays for state

Take away the Corbin HB option completion (very pretty, and led to Corbin's only score), and the Prestonsburg defense may have not surrendered another play that gained 10 yds. (a power running game demands too many plays/drive if a breakout or two don't occur). THAT was the biggest stat of the night for Prestonsburg.
Burchett was off-target by a very small margin in the 1st qtr., and there were some open drops in the 2nd, but Prestonsburg grouped completions together well enough to punch it in 3 times.
I'm GLAD Prestonsburg didn't play the 2nd half like it did vs. Belfry. The Blackcats moved the ball and kept Corbin from playing on a short field when it mattered.
Corbin did exactly what I thought they might...they blitzed the OLB (follows the wing going in motion in the jet series). It wrecked the jet sweep and passing out of that formation. That's something that needs fixing before next week. I thought P-burg might go power sweep to the wide side to establish a run, but they didn't run that play ONE time all night (maybe the man in the booth saw something in the defense I didn't). Instead, P-burg stayed in the spread and went pure pass because Corbin remained in its base defense and never dropped into pass coverage.
Am I the only one that feels like the Blackcats just played Belfry ? The Redhounds looked and played a LOT like the Pirates...

P-burg, please, please, please, take the end around out of the playbook. It may fool some mediorce teams, but good teeams eat it alive. Or at the very least run a fake.

Yeah, I don't like this play at all. It eats me up every time we run it.

Congratulations Blackcats bring it home to the mountains.

If you're referring to the fake to the wing in motion, then give to the other wing (on the counter)... I agree.
The play takes wayyyy too long to develop and it's too easy to blow up. If the OLB is blitzing, he runs smack into the ball carrier. Heck, if he just stays home, he's got a line of sight to see the hand-off and is in good position to make the play.
I'd much rather they use their power sweep (just like the Packers of the 60's made famous)...it makes great use of good pulling linemen. And this line is as mobile as any Blackcat o-line I've ever seen.

Are you already home ?!? If so...you were a baaad boy. I can understand getting the drive over with quickly, though, as can all in P-burg who had to come back from there after last year's game.
But anyway...it's much appreciated and rest assured, they'll be no lack of effort !!

Way to go P-burg. On to BG from a Bell Co. fan. Go Bobcat's, Sorry Go Blackcat's.

There was also one GREAT offensive adjustment from the beginning of the game that was very noticeable...the play-fakes on passing plays were greatly reduced and there were 0 double play-fakes.
That adjustment probably saved P-burg of a number of sacks. The Corbin pass rushers had good quickness...
