Congrats Eagles!

Jc-highlands part 2... If jc's defense was a lil stronger they would give highlands fits cause their offense is really good
#10
The last thing JC wants to do is challenge the Bluebird D.
#11
Congrats JC on 8 straight wins!!!
#12
Im gonna go ahead and say that if highlands overlooks jc it could be a decent game. The line for central really impressed me tonight.
#13
Great Job Coach Matney and the JC Golden Eagles. Keep it up.
#14
Nice win for JC.
#15
Great win Eagles. The Birds are next. Go knock them off up north.
#16
I'll be the first to man up and admit I was wrong about JC.

Very impressive win...congrats Eagles. You proved myself and several other wrong.

JC's season will come to an end next week though as Highlands defense and offense are both flat out clicking on all cylinders right now.

This is a shout out to the O line for all their hard work this season and for a great game tonight!Tanner Bratton was a beast tonight, and in my book the player of the game, for he made great blocks for his team mates. Its not all about one person or there stats, its about a great team effort and the eagles showed that they have come together at the right time of year when it matters the most.

Congrats!

Congrats!

Even though it kills me, give a shout out to coach kennedy over there at JC who must have done an outstanding job after excepting the job to move there from Lewis County, we really lost a dedicated coach there.

Great Job EAGLES!!!

Last year everybody was predicting a Bluebird blowout and JC was one fumble return from pulling the upset. IF HHS gets too cocky, it could happen again. JC plays the style of ball that the Birds struggle against. I look for this game to be closer than the predicted scores I've been seeing. Travel safe and we'll see y'all on Friday!

Good win. Highlands will be tough.

Congrats!

I am interested in seeing how they handle the Highlands "11 linebackers/DB's defense" all up and moving, looking for a gap before the snap.

If JC gets down a couple of TD's, how good is their passing game?

Cincy St. X tried to play smashmouth football and run it down Highlands throat too...we all saw how that worked for the Bombers. If Highlands can stop X run game and hold them to 7 points, I'm fairly confident JC's run game won't be anything new to them.

Having faced JC last year will also be an advantage for the Birds as well. Highlands coaches are excellent at making adjustments.

JC gave HHS a good game last year, but don't stretch the truth. HHS had the game under control and lack of pass defense or pass offense killed you. JC lost quite a bit on both o and d lines from last year. They still have a good running game but still lack a passing attack and bad special teams. HHS is probably better than last years team and solid in all areas. This HHS team is also the deepest team in a LONG time. JC is not deep and might hang around early, but HHS will wear them down and take over. Tell me as a JC fan, what do you do on kickoffs. You have Collingsworth and Bardo back returning kickoffs and can break it for a TD everytime they touch it. If you squib kick it, then you give their potent offense good field position. I think most HHS and JC fans can not wait for Friday night. Does JC fans travel well?

Good job Eagles!!!

I thought that this was the thread to discuss the Covington Catholic loss to Johnson Central. The one where people who trashed the JC program and eastern Kentucky football in general would acknowledge that they were wrong in their predictions that the Colonels would embarrass the Golden Eagles at home.

Covington Catholic has a great football tradition and great fans. It is a shame that a small number of NKY football snobs have nothing better to do than jump into every thread to boast about how NKY football is on another level than any other football played in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Now that their predictions of a CC blowout did not pan out, they are already in pre-gloat mode for the regional championship game.

In the past two years, Johnson Central has rushed for around 1200 yards against Covington Catholic. If the Golden Eagles do not turn the ball over, they are capable of running the ball effectively against any team in the state. Obviously, giving up more than 30 points against the Colonels does not bode well for next week's match-up against Highlands. It sounded like Covington Catholic began to wear down JC's defense some in the second half.

Covington Catholic did not quit last night and they nearly played themselves back into the game in the fourth quarter. Hopefully, JC is not too banged up to make a good showing next week. I look forward to a rematch between JC and Covington Catholic next season. Both teams should be stronger next season, so I hope that the two teams meet next season in the regional championship.

Glad to see that JC came out and hit the ground running!! literally! Great impressive win! Johnson Central is on a roll still and i can't wait to see how they'll do against Highlands. I would love to see this Johnson Central team bring this momentum and confidence into the game against Highlands and come out with a big time upset!! That would be awesome and i really think that they have a shot at doing that! Go Eagles!!

Anything is possible...I know JC is a physical football program and Highlands has a long-time winning tradition, I would love to see JC get the upset and go all the way...that trump and 0-4 start!
