2nd Round Upsets???
#1
These are some possible upsets I see that COULD happen in the 2nd Round. I predicted the scores of what I think will happen.

1A -- Campbellsville over Raceland -- 34-28

2A -- Danville over Green Co. -- 27 - 14
Holy Cross over DeSales -- 33-21

3A -- Western Hills over Central --14 - 10
Pike Central over Mason Co. -- 21-7

4A -- Franklin Simpson over Lone Oak -- 45 - 28
Cov. Holmes over Lex. Catholic -- 35 - 31

5A -- I see None to predict

6A -- Nelson Co. over Greenwood - 24 - 14
Manuel over Simon Kenton - 28 - 14
Shelby Co. over Trinity - 33-31

Those are pretty nice picks as possible upsets. I think the Danville over Green County pick is the most likely along with Western Hills over Central. The only game I may add would be Rockcastle County over Bell County in 4A. Not likely, but possible.

Simon will not lose to Manual in my opinion. Bellevue will beat Frankfort in 1A. I know they wont look at it as an upset since Bellevue should be going in as the favorite but it is a lower seed beating a 1 seed. Your other picks I agree with you.
#4
I dont consider Bellevue over Frankfort an upset. Now next week against Beechwood......Think it might happen!
#5
Simon may be primed for an upset.
Bellevue over Frankfort would be an upset. Frankfort had been ranked higher than Bellevue all year in state polls
#6
I like your picks.

:popcorn:That would be a guarentee upset if that was the result, I would really love to see that happen, but it will be whoever wants it more IMO.

I know what you mean by who wants it more but I'm sorry to tell you that no matter how bad Rockcastle wants it, it ain't happening.........

It may happen, but truly I watched the first game they played I promise it wasn't even close. Expect the same tomorrow night Bobcats are really practising hard for this game and seem to be very focused,:redboxer:

I would not consider Campbellsville over Raceland an upset, although I would be upset. From what I have read they are about the same caliber of team and Campbellsville is a 1 seed and Raceland is a 2. I would love to see Shelby Co. upset Trinity. I think they have a good chance.

I don't think Bell will lose BUT they said the same thing about Boyd County in 2003.... That Boyd County team was not as talented as Rockcastle is this season.

I was watching some local sport show tonight and they were picking Ryle to pull the upset this Friday. I however do not think it is going to happen. I do think it will be a close game though.

I don't think Estill will pull this one off. The score of the first game was a little misleading. Somerset only won 27-14 but Estill did absolutely nothing on offense. The Engineers ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and scored with about 15 seconds to go on (mostly) Somerset's reserves. Up until that last drive Estill had less than 100 total yards on Somerset's defense. Also it was raining and muddy that night and Somerset wasn't able to throw the ball at all. The Jumpers were also missing one of their main receivers and their first and second string centers--a sophmore tackle had to step in at center. This time Somerset has everyone healthy and it will be a dry field. I'll take the Jumpers at home 35-14.

SK will not get beat. :please: Explain your reasoning for being "primed".

I will say that SK has not really played a very tough schedule for a 6A power which could hurt in the tougher playoff games, but still do not see them getting beat this week ( that will come next week).

After this week I don't think any Simon Kenton loss will be able to be considered an upset.

Bell Co 2003 team is NO WHERE as athletic as this years team (2009). Bell Co's D is scary fast to the ball in every phase of it this year!!!

Knox Central WILL BEAT Lawrence Co Friday night!!!
#27
yep agree lawrence county will go out

Jumper Dad Wrote:Not Possible or Likely Bell by 30+

Any game played can "possibly" go either way. Upsets occur every week at every level. I'm going with Bell on this one but the game is yet to be played.

Like I said, not likely but possible. :thanks:
#29
I dont see Rock beating Bell, if Bell comes out with a 21-0 lead it's over!!!
I pick Knox over Lawerence, I could be wrong!!!!! But I would like to see the new 10-0 Lawerence come to Log Mt!!!!!!!
I hope FS beats Lone Oak!!!!!!
#30
