Hatz Wrote:Same principle applies. If prior knowledge is known that the Field on Log Mountain is in serious and dangerous conditions to the athletes because of constant rain and weather, could not a team then ask for the game site to be moved to another field that is in better condition and not suffering the same hazard?
If Boyle knew the condition of the stands at say Prestonsburg that year, would the commish have had the game moved?
You don't ever have to worry about Bell Conty's field they have a tarp and use if just about everytime that it looks like it is going to rain.

So if Henry County for example has to play at Louisville Central.. can the principal protest the location because of the crime rate around the stadium and past incidents where fans had their cars broken into in the parking lot?

If there is a stopper at the door, yes. But if it's open General Admission and whoever can come in comes in, they just can't find a seat, how is that different than some venues out there now?
It's also a problem in basketball because some gyms have to stop admission during tourneys.
Amped, I get your point. It's been fun with you and Snare and actually made me  all this time.
I don't think Boyle will try to move the game from Rebel Field for a Semi-Final match up. It would be a logistical and financial nightmare.
I just find it funny because I've never heard so many jump to a future game (both now and the last time the thread appeared) as we have on this one. I've never heard of a team protesting a venue of a game before.
Good luck to you guys in the upcoming weeks.

Hatz...put the mirophone back down. Those days are over. We are not talking about safety issues. YOU WILL NOT PLAY THERE AFTER THIS WEEK!!!
Like I said, "If your field is that bad you can come here". If we make it. I said in another post we will be playing on turf, just not in Danville, Bell will have to go to Lexington.

So say Belfry and Breathitt meet in the Semi-Finals:
Every time Belfry has travelled to Breathitt in the past their fans have overfilled the miniscule bleachers that breathitt has for visitors. As a direct result Belfry has been forced to have some fans sit on the home side where verbal confrontations have occurred. So if Belfry's principal insisted that the game be played at site with ample visitor seating they can protest and have it moved to a neutral field?

1. I am not a Boyle fan, I don't know.
2. You totally missed what I was referring to.

Dang you all are making my head hurt. Feel like I have been watching Court TV or something????
2 things to add
1. 4k seems pretty high rent to me, come on down to Bell we will just charge you 3999.99 to use our "top secret" turf field.
2. I really don't think either team Bell or Boyle (if they get there) really care were they play. I would say they would play in the median of hwy 150 if need be.

No safety issues.......... then you can't protest a home field.

First of all that was quite funny...
Secondly,
4,000 may not be too far fetched when you consider power bill, staffing, security, and clean up of the grounds, parking lots, locker rooms, bleachers, etc

If I recall Shawn Robbins was pretty fast back than. Ranked 3rd. in the 3A in rushing at 218 yards per game and 34 rushing TD's.

Actually my friend it was tarped. The bad spot of the on the East end near the 20 yard line and at mid field. The seams of the tarp came open and it leaked. Mueller actually commited before the game how good of shape the field was in.
On a side note the wet spot at the 20 actually is a haunting memory for some Bell fans. In the last 2 minutes of the game. Bell going for the win on the 2nd down play. They perfectly ran a trick play and had a WR wide open but he slipped in the mud and fell down with the ball just on his fingertips. :devilflam

I will guarantee you that Danville has much more team speed than Bell County does every year. I said EVERY YEAR. Including this year. Some of you people get carried away on this "speed" thing. If Boyle lost to every team in the past ten years with more speed, they would be about .500 every year. Let's see, besides Danville, we've heard it about Christian County, Lafayette, Hopkinsville, Bardstown, Louisville Central, Henry Clay, Highlands, Harrodsburg, Marion County, Paducah Thighlman, Warren Central, etc... countless times over the years. It's getting old.

I have seen Danville this year. Are you sure you want to make that statement? Year in year out I agree but this year. :dontthink I have agreed with you on a lot of things but that my friend is not true.

I'm afraid by the end of this year, that it's going to grow that Christian County had no players to tackle Rees.
Come to think of it, that part is true.

From 3 to 5 in 2 weeks. Impressive. Here in another 2 weeks we'll of played against their freshman team they had so many out. And we all know those freshman are alot slower than what we would of seen had their whole varsity team been healthy.
