I'll take the Blackcats by 3 touchdowns as they're playing their best football as of late.
Go Blackcats!

P'burg BIG!!!!!!!........atleast 4 td's.

I like the Blackcats by at least 4 TD's in this one. Middlesboro has looked better the last couple of games, but they are no match for Prestonsburg.
Good luck to both teams!

My poor alma mater is going to get blown out in this game. I hate to say it, but it's going to happen.
Good luck to both teams. May it be an injury free game.

Go Blackcats!
And that is somewhat different for the Blackcats this year. They usually start off like gangbusters, then wear down towards the end of the year. This year has been different, though. They started off strong, and have steadily improved over the year, and now are playing very, very good football.

It's another advantage of this year's offensive scheme. If this team played its typical "run your guts out, then throw deep to give the RBs a break" P-burg style with so many going both way, I'm not sure they'd have survived intact (esp. with so few on the team).

So if P'burg wins they would play Corbin right where would this game be held if at Corbin I would go watch it than watching Bell beat lawrence County because it would be a great game I would love to see P'burg beat them
11-08-2009, 10:50 AM
Since Prestonsburg had to go to Corbin last year, I presume the game would be held at Prestonsburg this year.
11-08-2009, 10:59 AM
The Regional Final is in the odd district this year (with the odd year). That means if Prestonsburg beats Middlesboro, the final will be in P-burg regardless of the opponent...
Sorry, BBBF. Can't blame you for avoiding that drive. -whew-

Pburg should have home field through out the playoffs.

If Prestonsburg wins their 3rd round game and they face either NewCath or DeSales they would have to travel there.

Why would Pburg have to travel? I thought that it was odd district in the odd year or if they were both odd districts then it went by record. Pburg is the 7th district in the year 2009 with a 11-0 record. Please explain BCA.

Because that game would be a Semi-State matchup. The odd region/odd year rule is then applied to Regions. P-burg, Corbin, et al all play in Region 4.

Per KHSAA.org
KHSAA - Pg. 7 Wrote:For the semi-state round (fourth round), the champion of region 1 will play the champion of Region 2 while the
champion of Region 3 will play the champion of Region 4. The team representing the even-numbered Region shall
host the games in even-numbered years, while the team representing the odd-numbered Region shall host the game
in odd-numbered years.

Prestonsburg is in an even numbered region (4) and will have to travel IF we get to the state-semi's.
