* Since Some Bell Co. Fan like to give Corbin a hard time for not playing them in football. I thought I would return the Favor. Rockcastle has been wanting to play Bell for 3 years now and has offered to come to Bell. But Bell Refuses to play them.

thats a pretty astounding record, they were region champions back in 1997.

Rockcastle was also district champions in 1999,2004,2005,2006,2007,and 2008.
#6
Good stuff boys. The only thing standing in Rockcastle's way would be the Lady Rebels and Coach Randy Salyers. They have began a GREAT rivalry!
#7
What can you tell us about Angie Lawrence(guard) from Rockcastle?
#8
Lawrence,Hammonds, and Alexander will be the 3 key returners IMO after losing Mattingly and Saylor. I see the Lady Rockets will taste revenge throughout the district to the regional tournaments. Rockcastle County will be a threat to represent the 12th Region in Bowling Green in 2010.
#9
I have to agree with you-Rockcastle Co. will be the one to beat.Watched them last year at State and was very impressed-Free throws at the end hurt them-and Im sure that Lawrence remembers this and will have improved her percentage from the line this year.

I can not get Rock's roster to come up. Maybe you can help me out? Did Rock lose 4-5 sr's? Lot of team's may have trouble with that. Did hear Rock may have gained a couple by the way of transfer. IMO Rock goes toBG this year. Great coach and players left to take them. As for Bell, this would be a waste of gas on Rock's part. Bell can not play or could not have played with them. Bell went like 2-22 and 10-19 the last few year's. This year if they could play 500 ball it would be a good year for them IMO. Rock play's alot of good team's and I think this will help them in the long run. Maybe not a team below 500. Bell (MAYBE) in a year or two will be able to get up to Rock's level.

Who does Rock scrimmage this year in the preseason?
#13
They scrimmage Anderson Co. on the 19th @home and then Woodford Co. Away on the 24th.
#14
How did the scrimmage go? How did both teams look?
#15
Rock looked really good. Hammonds look really good inside and came out to hit a three.
#16
I can't wait for the season to start. My roommate is from Casey County and he is Coach Randy Salyers's nephew. This will make the Casey games SOOO much better!

It is only a little over a week until the first game!

Rockcastle plays Scott Co. twice this year-any predictions?

I can't remember if Scott County is supposed to have a good girls team or not. I am going to think that they will because they have had great teams in the past.

Yes they play at Scott Co. and at the Gateway Classic. Scott was Really young last season. they had 1 jr, 5 So, 2 Fr, 2 8th grade, and 4 7th. they return every one from last years 17-15 season. Rockcastle returns alot of there fire power from there 25-7 seasons. I think this years Rockcastle team Could be better then the 2004 team. Rock should win, But its really not far to perdict any thing before both teams have played a game.

She is A great ball handler. she has some off nights but when she is on look out. she scored 25 of the bench in the 2008 district championship. Tonight at rocket madness i noticed that alot of the girls have gotten big. Sara Hammonds looked like she has been lifting with Coach saylor and the football team, and it showed she looked extreamly strong. she had one block tonight off the back board
Here are some of ther Players that Played some last year.
00 Sara Hammond F Jr.
2 Sydney Arvin G Jr.
3 Jackie Alexander F Sr.
20 Ella McQueary G Jr.
22 Casey Sturgill G Jr.
10 Kristin Abney G Jr.
11 Shanlee Burton F Jr.
12 Angie Lawrence G Sr.

Scott Co.is pretty young this year also. However their Middle School 8th
grade won the Bluegrass conf.Regular Season and Tournament.A very talented group of players.Their Jr.(Madison Webb) is one hard nosed
in your face and inn your shoes type player that can and Will score
double figures every game. They also have tremendous outside shooters,
averaging 15-20 3's shot with 47% accuracy.I know about your Rockcastle
Team fairly well-I cheered for them at State wearing one of your T-shirts,
had a great time and hurt for you guys on the missed free throws. Her father is a good friend of mine, and she is someone I have watched mature into the player she is now.Im very proud of the job she has done-and very proud of Christy(sp?) Hope somehow we can meet at the games. My Daughter is the Asst.Coach and my Son-in-Law the Head Coach at Scott.Co.

What's her name? Also did not see any soph's on what was "players from last year". Any soph or freshmen on Rock's team beside the one? I would think they would be.

My bad, did not see where you put played some last year. But would like to know about them anyway. I think a few were at Geogetown camp this summer.
