Arrogance vs. Confidence
#1
What's the difference?
#2
Confidence-Having Faith your team can win

Arrogance-Thinking/Knowing your team is and will be the best or kill the other team. Thinks if it aint there team doing it, it aint right, prime example: Bell co. Fans
#3
Arrogance is not a bad thing after you accomplish what we accomplish you would be like us and think your team is unbeatable to we just love our team and hre latley we been under attack for bragging about our team

Theres not a fan out there that wouldn't do the same and as fans its our job to be arrogant. The players are the only ones who have to take every game like its the last.

Bell County fans bragging about their team is one thing but belittling or demeaning other teams in the process is another. The problem is I have seen numerous threads concerning other teams, none involving Bell, and the Bell fans go into "Attack Dog" mode. Almost every team in the mountains has been a victim of a negative verbal barrage by a poster from Bell County whether they play Bell County or not. Bell County fans, be proud of your team and brag on your successes but be professional and respectful. If someone predicts another team to beat you, that is not a personal attack, it is their prediction. ANYONE with any sense knows you are the best team in the mountains with the best chance of winning another state title. Be respectful to other teams. Just because some other school's football program is not as successful as yours doesn't mean that school's fans still doesn't love them just the same.

My example of arrogance

Now I would like to hear from more than us crazy Harlan County and bell fans, we can do this on our thread!

Actually, it seems like just two Bell County fans have been responsible for this. They hijack more often than the PLO.

On the topic at hand - arrogance is a dismissive attitude toward others and their abilities. Confidence, on the other hand, is having carefully measured out others while giving them full credit for their strengths and still being convinced of one's own ability in relationship to them.

Arrogance is repulsive; confidence is attractive.

Are saying I'm attractive?

You are probably right but the truth is that " a group of many is judged by the actions of one".

This was very well put, I was actually taking up for Bell County in that other thread, then I just couldn't handle them anymore. I spoke my piece about it and I mention being a LCC fan, and they attacked LCC for no reason, saying they backed down from playing or something, also received a pm saying my opinions didn't count cause I had a Whitesburg helmet avatar. I mean seriously, bringing a team that does not even exist anymore is very unprofessional. The sad fact of the matter is, Bell County is one of the best teams around, but their fans are giving them a bad name. Anyhow, that was very well put OrangenowBlue.

Most Bell County football people (not 8th graders with a laptop, grammar problems and no curfew) that I have ever talked with are very gracious people.

When I have been around them at games (I've seen them play LC, some of the NKY steamrollers and the like) they have been dedicated to their team and not arrogant.

I guess puberty can bring out the worst in some.

Would love to see rematch between Belfry and SC with SC's full squad for the entire game.

Confidence - what players have
Arrogance - what fans have
lol
#18
Confidence is believing that you will definitely win; arrogance is telling the other team's players and fans that you will definitely win.

When i pick a score or say something about a team i dont mean it to hurt or judge anybody. That's just the way i am if i think you will lose and i say your gonna lose and you try to justify your point when you have no point you turn it in to we are picking on you and don't like you and try to put you down that is not the case.

Arrogance / Confidence same thing except arrogance crosses the line of being derogatory or taunting your opponent
#23
Confidence, is when you walk onto the field and losing never enters your mindset, arrogance is for those wannabes.

And your point being? If you are talking about Bell and Rock come on. I know that Boyle won 5 in a row and know one else has done that yet but what other accomplishments have they done before that we can go that route too. Everyone is attacking Bell County fans and most of us have stayed out of it. This is getting pretty bad I won't even hardly post on here because it is getting to be a joke. I think that people need to grow up. I can get on here and say Bell County has not had a losing season since 1982. I remember when Boyle Co was terrible. they never beat me the whole time I was in high school. We beat them 40 to 0 both my junior and senior year. Oh well.

I applaud your response and concur with what you have said. As an Alcoa fan, I have not been treated with anything but respect but Bell fans. I saw a couple of postings that were somewhat arrogant but I chose to ingnore them which everybody should do. Why get in a pi***ng contest?? Bell fans posted what they thought were their teams strengths and I posted the same for Alcoa. We concurred that we would have to wait and see what the best team "that night" brought to the field. Because of the kindness of the Bell fans, I am now a Bell fan and pull for them weekly.

In my humble opinion, a couple of posters are giving Bell a bad name and that is a shame. Combine that with a winning record and a great team, Bell fans are getting a bad rap. That is not fair.

This is the advice I give my kids........when somebody speaks out of turn, calls names, or in any way mouths of when they shouldn't, JUST IGNORE THEM. If they don't get a rise out of you, they will eventually shut up. So I say to all of you, IGNORE what you don't like and it will fade away. Otherwise, to banter back and keep the verbal back and forth going makes you a party to it. IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO!!

Now, you can attack me if you wish but I try always to do the right thing and I think I have done so by stating this opinion. This parent says to all of you...................enough already!

GO BOBCATS, I look forward to an excellent season for your team and will be an avid supporter.

Confidence is knowing that your good. Arrogance is letting everyone else know that you know your good.

My point being the difference between arrogance (you just want to be like us0 and Confidence (I believe we are as good as any program).

As to the Boyle question, you can remember when they were terrible and I can remember when they were a pretty good Central Kentucky program that had no less in accomplishments than some would claim for theirs. (BTW, that was prior to Chuck Smith. Way prior)

I'm not attacking as much as pointing out the lunacy of the extremes I see (i.e. "King of the Mountains," "You Envy Us" and so on). Boyle fans can get that way as well but don't have as much to crow about historically when in a room with say Bluebirds, Shamrocks, Tigers and about another half dozen or so. For every arrogant fan, there is another program that does not have any real need to envy them at all.
