He plays at 100mph and is out of control. he is athletic and can play good D and can get to the rim but is really uncordnated like alot of freshman. He does not have a good outside jumper. He does have a great work ethic and has talent but needs a good coach to show him whats right and wrong. the only person he listens too is chal slone and that is going to be a downfall for him because he has no clue what he is talking about and he wasnt even the best middle school coach in the county. i am not saying dav is not a good ball player becuase he might be the 3rd or 4th best player on the team but there is no way he is better than bj i cant believe you said that. you have no clue what your talking about.

I'll tell you right now JR was done wrong while he was head coach at SC funny that he couldn't coach high school but is now a college coach

I've coached against both, watched both play A LOT, and I have no biased to either.
David will be a better player and he is a scorer, which is different than a shooter.......and I would say I have coached more basketball games in the past 4 years than you have watched in your life.

Moore has already established himself to be one of the top 10 players in the region and there should be no question as to is the better player. Moore will have to score 30 points per game just to keep SC in the game. This topic is about SC basketball and not who the better player is. That question has been answered a long time ago. From where I sit having only 18 players does not bode well for SC and once again the grim reaper is knocking at the door as another losing season under Harless could mean the death of SC basketball.

You do know SF has been down for the last few seasons, things dont stay that way forever. Also, played without their starting SG (all-conference), for over half the season last year. SF's lineup from PG to C, ranges from 6'2 to 6'6, with the sixth man probably being 6'5 Corey Paige. They've all grown and gotten alot stronger. Also, gotten alot faster and more athletic. And got a junior transfer from, Rowan County.
Im willing to bet you SC dont come within 10pts. of SF this year or next. SF lost basically nobody and dont lose much after this season either really.
I don't care what has happened the last couple of years.
But, good luck this year Cards, JR Hammonds done a good job down there. Seems like the community needs to do something to get a new coach somehow, someway.

Well you must be chalice slone because your the only coach that has been around bj that thinks that. i have spent the last day asking every coach he has played for (besides ronnie smith because dav didnt play for warfield) if bj was the best player they have coached and every coach has said yes. everybody (NEXT) is a prime example of what is wrong with this county and school system. he is a coach that gets on a here and puts his own players down just to make his boy look good. thank you for making my point. BJ Please get out of there and go to a better school i am begging you. i will drive you myself to school everyday idc where it is to get you away from people like chalice slone and other coaches is the school system that are just like him. i cant want until this season starts and we will see how good david slone is?? i am going to post on every game asking on how he did. so you better make sure he dominates!!!!

No he couldnt beat you. and you could start on this team and be the 2md best player!!! and we wont even beat south floyd this year unless bj has 50 which is possble. BJ look at the MR. JUSTICE at Shelby VALLEY if you get yourself at a school like that you could be in the same postion. if you worked hard because you have that much talent..

I never said he was a better player now, I said he would end up being a better player, and he will if he works as hard as he has in the past and stays humble.
I don't even live in Martin Co., I'm not related to Chalice, or anyone else on the team but I have coached against every single player on SC's team........
The problem with Martin Co. is too many people think they know it all, and most of them get on here and post plus they are 15-20 yr old kids.......

lol say what you want the kids is good. he is the best player in his class is the 15th region. but really the poor slone kid should thank you for putting a target on his back because i will be sure to post every game to see how he's done!! its going to be a fun season cant wait!! :biggrin:

David Slone isnt a bad player, BJ is better though..David is agressive and a good scorer but he does have problems handling the ball, But Moore is the best player on that team and top 5 in the region...either way without him or David the cards would average about 14.5 points a game

Wow. I Laughed All The Way Through This Thread. Comparing Dave To BJ Is Like Comparing Landon Slone To Jon Hood. BJ Moore is by far the best player at sheldon clark high school I myself always was a non believer in the kid. Always saying they need to let him progress and learn. But i have played with this kid at the high school and seen him play a few games. He really does have tremendous talent and needs a coach and a good school to get out of this county. He deserves better.

This is Chalice Slone. I know that BJ is a better player than Dave right now and most importantly they are both good kids. But it is no wonder things are in the shape that they are you stupid people post stupid things. I would just like for our TEAM to get better and learn proper work habits! As far as me only coaching Dave, any kid can ask me to do anything and I will always help as much as possible. As for who was the better coach between me and Ronnie I don't really know because we both had some pretty good teams and we both treated our kids with respect and we both won. I think that IMS won 2 championships and WMS won 2 championships and then the Cards won one! So, in my 13 years of coaching our kids won 5 championships. Although winning is not everything winning in the right way is a good start. I just can't believe that you would get on here and rip kids when they know who you are! Monter energy, come on! That's a hard one to figure out! Are you still trying to race? So, in closing, if you want to know why people leave and why things are the way they are you should just look at yourself in the mirror because it's kids like you who destroy everything! Chalice Slone - so there is no question!

I agree that it is a shame that Ronnie is sick and I think that he did a great job with WMS. However, I believe that we were 55-10 over the last two seasons (One championship and one third place finish with a couple of starters hurt!) and comments like yours are what it is that destroys things around here. I do however think that it is very funny with some of these lame comments comming from the same people who seem to know very little. Coach Slone

After seeing them play yesterday its going to be a long year for the cards. They will be lucky to win 5 games this year, other then Moore the starting 5 is a joke.

And he's not a very good one at that. Whats ALC's record now? like 1-6. Is this Harless's last season? If so, who will they look to to take over the SC program? Might be time to go out of Inez to find a coach.

So it's these to posters on this forum running players off... NOOO sir its the joke of a coach staff they have that is running players off. Until SC hires a coach from outside of the county, Nothing will change for the boys basketball team.
