You have heard the saying if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all, that's where the fans are.We have not seen the team that played Rowan County, and we don't no what to say.We are always at the games cheering for them win or lose, and we will always support our boys.Just don't know what to say that would help things at this point, and don't want to say the wrong thing.

Its hard to get on here when two weeks ago you thought you were contenders for the district and now your just fighting to stay outa last place.
#9
congrats on the win boyd.

Carter must not have played? I hate to say it but without him they are a J.V. team that will improve hopefully next year. Keep working and things will get better!

Carter tried to play but was limited to what he could do, GC scored on a 14 play drive to start the game, but gave up field position on ensueing kickoff, 2nd qtr. and down 14-7, int. at the goal line stopped drive, and that was the game, 2 costly turnovers in 1st half spelled doom once again for the Musketeers, the boy's play hard but shoot themselves in the foot, Coach Copley should play the only true qb. he has, but that won't happen, and move Waugh to running back, where his skills could be utilized more and where he would be more comfortable, until we can pass, we are going to see 8 or 9 in the box every game, and it is to hard to block everybody, without a couple getting through, #6 once again punted the ball very good with his directional punting, kick it where they cannot return it, Coach needs to make some hard changes, it is hard to take a beat down every week on Friday night after working their butts off all week long, and it's the same little things that hurt them every game, penalties, kickoffs, line blocking, ability to and not able to pass, and a defense that looks like swiss cheese, Black Steel, what a joke, more like a aluminun can defense, I am sorry to sound so negative, but I am fed up, thank goodness only 2, maybe, 3 more weeks and it will be over, and then maybe next year, once again.

Then why isn't the "true qb" playing at qb position and is that #6?

Boyd played a solid game. The line was dominating as Boyd sustained long drives each time they had the ball eating up lots of clock. Greenup had about a 9 minute drive on its first series after it looked like a 3 & out, with Boyd called for a roughing the Punter. The interception at the end of the first half killed any momentum GC had. When Boyd plays turnover free football they are a good team. Very good coaching job by Lee Evans. QB Arthur 2 for 3 passing and ran the offense well, when the line is dominating and you are getting about 5 yards a carry no need to throw it even though it was there. Great game by everyone, Special Teams also. Good luck Friday at Lawrence County.

That's Boyd Co. ask the Devils.

With everyone back BOYD COUNTY is a good football team . They showed that tonight with how they worked the clock. Good win BOYD COUNTY. They are for real. Great to see everyone back and feeling good, and looking good. Take it one game at a time and you will be fine. GO BOYD COUNTY!!!!!!

This is a familiar theme from previous seasons.

Did Copley not change the mindset of the players, school, and the community? It was stated at the beginning of the season that this would be a rough year due to the lack of seniors.

If 2 different coaching philosophies (Sammons and Copley) have attempted since 2005 to change the product on the field maybe it isn't the coaching at all. But it could be the coaching and the players just won't play for them.

I don't know. :HitWall:

Yes, has played that position since 3rd. grade, quarterbacked freshmen and jv. as a freshman, sophmore the jv. team, played receiver last yr., this spring was learning the offense with #3 Meenach, until the tragic death of Zach, was the qb. during passing leauge, and then Reed comes out and takes the position and then quits team after 4 games, the Coach put's Waugh at qb., #6 was asked to play at qb., but the way he got done by the acquisition of Reed, you cannot blame him for not accepting the position, so he is counting the days until the season is over, this is a kid who loved football and is not a quitter.

I'm sorry to hear that about #6, old warrior.

Are other football parents questioning Coach Copley's decisions, too?

Have your feelings changed about Coach Copley, old warrior?

No, we are not allowed to discuss playing time with Coach, he will talk to you about anything, but not playing time, and I am alright with that, #6 did ask a coach to put him in when Waugh was hurt, he wanted to throw some pass's to try and get team back into game, but it did not happen, and he played tight end the rest of the game, but as far as I know no other parents are having any issues with the Coach, he is trying to do the best, with what he has to work with, he is playing alot of juniors and a couple sophmores, so maybe next year, things will get better.

No , he has got these boy's all new equipment and all new practice field equipment and he has been there for them, I just thought we would of had a little more success, I'm tired of losing and I'm not use to taking beatdowns, like we have took this year.

OW, you know I love #6, but I also know that everytime(even before Reed was there)he would miss his reads, get frustrated and say he didnt want to play QB. Now you act like he is wanting to quit because he isnt playing the position that he said multiple times that he didnt want to play. I dont understand.

How many teams with 3 or 4 seniors that play are going to be great teams?
#25
The 1st year with a new coach is a difficult one for most teams.

If the parents, fans and community remain patient good things will happen in the near future.

Hey, COUPON21, you know that I respect you and the other coach's and am one of the biggest fans of our program, but do you honestly think when we get behind in the game we can come back running the ball, what I am saying is we need to throw the ball a little more to loosen up the defense, heck your JFL teams passed more, and so far I have not seen a qb. that can pass the ball effectively, and about the quit word, #6 has never quit anytime, he says it is no fun anymore, and whoever qbs., until the line play picks up, you could have Joe Montana back there and he would struggle also, I am not down on any of you coach's or the program, I,m just tired of the results, winning is fun, losing leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and keeps on carrying on, week after week.

I understand, trust me it is not fun for anybody. I love Cam and always have. I know he wont ever quit.

I would have to say that you are wrong on the "quitter" thing. So what you got passed over, the mind set should be that it is my time to take this team and do something with it. Remember the QB is your field general, a take charge kind of guy not a take my ball and go home kind of guy.

You have never seen #6 play at qb., plus i have never seen a tackle play a football game in the mud and not get dirty, do your job!!!! and if you think you are a field leader, then step up. As big as you are you should dominate.

So this conversation between old warrior and 55x11 is between a Greenup County player's father and another player on Greenup County's team (according to previous posts).

It was my understanding through posts made by coupon21 and kosar over the previous 8 or so months that Greenup County football was to bring the community together and to not tear it apart.

What happened?

Instead we have more of this.

:argue:

I heard all about Sammons being the problem but he has been gone for a year.

Who will you blame for the infighting now?
