I expect a large crowd, being homecoming, and Lawrence County fans following their team, with their recent success, and all the players playing their hearts out, after working their tails off and straining their gut's out in the weight rooms, but let us not forget these are just kid's out there playing the game they love, let us all be respectful towards them, and after all is said and done, may we hold our heads up and show respect toward one another, should be a dandy, hope to see you at the game.

They would beat your Rams by a good solid two or more TD's.

This game will be decided by who wants it the worse. LC has a lot of heart this year. We have not had that in a while. LC works together to get things done. LC will get it done!

What kind of offense does LC run? How often do they pass?
10-05-2009, 11:30 PM
Lawrence County runs the Double Wing offense and they can pass and will. They favor the run more than the pass, but they have a lot of weapons to work with and some great receivers in Lucas Frasher and Josh Mills.

Was told this evening, that team watched film of Bulldogs, and coach buried film of Rowan County on the practice field, then the team practiced 4 and a half hours, finished off with some spirited wind sprints, now that's Monday practice, as the school was out today, Coach keeping team focused. :runtouchd
10-06-2009, 09:20 AM
This is a big game sure lawrence has a great set of running backs very fast and strong but if the big guys play like they always do for this team getting a 5 yard push off the ball and making our running backs only break tackles 8 yards down field plan for a long night. Big games come down to the big people on the field

Just another practice day for the Bulldogs as they do every week in preparing for the next team. They know how good Greenup is and are very aware of what they can do and how they do it. That is one thing this staff does a good job of is breaking down the game film and preparing these boys.

Football Mom 1 Wrote:I agree. I went to the game this past Friday and to me there was no competition between the two. Carter outplayed Cross. I was kind of anxious to see the "Showdown" between these two, but was sadly disappointed because it was clearly shown that Carter dominated the field. On that note I was very proud of the Musketeers for the way they played. They played hard and it showed. It wasn't the best place to play, IMO, but I guess you get that sometimes. Keep your head up Musketeers, take your frustrations out on Lawrence County this week! Don't let them "take" this game from you!
Ok i am already getting sick of hearing about this carter kid and don't even know him and he dominates. and how he is so much better than cross if he dominated and so much better who won. i think rowan did and i don't care if you win by one or a hundred winning is what its all about.

COUNTY RULES Wrote:After the Rowan Game I believe Greenup has the talant to beat anybody they want. Lyle has a very punishing forward running game and after he hits players a few times they don't wan't to get in the way anymore and with Carters Quickness teams don't know which way is up after a few runs, then throw in Hensley Power, and Hardin Speed Greenup has one of the better Back fields in the area. If they can get the defensive squad together they can go a long way and teams better watch out. Because no matter what the score waslast Friday they beat the pants off Rowan and made them look bad they know they were real LUCKY!!! ( No EXCUSES ) to get the win.
so the rb's like hitting ppl and players don't want to get in the way can't wait to see them run up to big ben preston and he hits them in the mouth and see who don't want to get in the way and who wants to run the ball :yikes:

All the Greenup County fans make it sound like they have one of the best teams in the state. Why is Greenup County only won 2 games this year? You can argue strength of schedule all day long but they haven't played that tough of a schedule. Greenup was completely blown out against Russell and Ashland. Sorry, but I'm not buying the Greenup County hype. I'm sure that Greenup has a better team than their record indicates but not near as good as their fans make it sound.

Do you all play Ashland, Russell, Raceland, no, you all don't play the caliber of teams we have played, plus injuries, transfers, and killing our own selves, have hurt us, and now we have the Carter factor, plus we have other backs that are good also, remember speed kills.

EXACTLY A WIN IS A WIN WINNING IS WHAT ITS ABOUT AND ALL THE HYPE OF HOW YOU ALL DOMINATE ROWAN WON SO YOU DIDN'T DOMINATE.
DOMINATE-Have the upper hand, get the upper hand, have the whip, get the whip; gain a hold upon, preponderate, dominate, rule the roost; boss; override, overrule, overawe; lord it over, hold in hand, keep under, make a puppet of, lead by the nose, turn round one's little finger, bend to one's will, hold one's own, wear the breeches; have the ball at one's feet, have it all one's own way, have the game in one's own hand, have on the hip, have under one's thumb; be master of the situation; take the lead, play first fiddle, set the fashion; give the law to; carry with a high hand; lay down the law; "ride in the whirlwind and direct the storm"; rule with a rod of iron; (severity).
Influence Run through, pervade; prevail, dominate, predominate; out weigh, over weigh; over-ride, over-bear; gain head; rage; be -rife; Adjective: spread like wildfire; have the upper hand, get the upper hand, gain the upper hand, have full play, get full play, gain full play.
AND GREENUP HAS NEVER DOMINATED ANYONE THEY WIN A PLAYOFF GAME A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU DOMINATE. COME ON UP 23 TO LAWRENCE WHERE FOOTBALL IS KING OF EASTERN KY. ITS ALL ABOUT TRADITION AND I WOULD TAKE LAWRENCE TRADITION OVER GREENUP IN ANY SPORT.:Cheerlead:thatsfunn:ChairHit:

ASHLAND IS GREAT BUT OTHER THAN THAT YOUR SCHEDULE IS WEAK OLD DAWG. AND QUIT MAKING EXCUSES GREENUP HAS LOST . WE MAY HAVE BEEN 0-11 LAST YEAR AND BEEN DOWN LAST COUPLE YEARS BUT HAVE MADE NO EXCUSES. WE DON'T CRY ABOUT IT SO QUIT CRYING AND GET READY FRIDAY FOR GREENUP TO GET A :ChairHit:

I will give you the Ashland game. Just because Lawrence County hasn't played the same teams as Greenup, doesn't mean they haven't played anyone. Speed kills, and Lawrence County has plenty of it.

I'd say that is a pretty fair comparison. But in Greenups defense, Carter only had like 3 touches against Raceland and didnt play against Russell. I'm not saying Greenup would have beat Russell with him on the roster. But the game wouldn't have been 37-0 either. And no im insulting Russell Goreddevils, I know every time someone even mentions Russell in another thread u get upset:devilflam.

OK let's say Carter runs wild and ends up with 300 plus yards and 4 TD's great night and let's throw another one in for Greenup Co for good measure. Now everyone is saying Cross was wore down and didn't want to get hit anymore and on and on and on. OK Lawrence County ends up with Pack at only 127 yds and 2 TD's, West 65 yards and 1 TD either from rushing, receiving or returning the ball. Bentley and Clay combine for 85 yards and 1 TD and then Kiser throws for 65 yards and 1 TD. This ends up with LC having 343 yds & 5 TD's to Carter and Greenups 5 TD. So Carter has 4 TDs so far in 2 games and this gives him 4 in one game. The LC scores were based on exactly the yardage and TDs that they are averaging for each player. This also didn't take into account the scores from LCs other rushers since they are usually JV scores. This is only the key offensive players for the dawgs. So GC has a great night and LC just plays their average game and the score is tied at best. This is why I think LC will pull this one out. You can also look back at my breakdown of rushers against LC that I posted earlier in this thread. All stats come from those listed on KHSAA.org and then averaged out by myself.
