Paducah Tilghman @ Union County 10/9
#1
the battle of the 3A west.
#2
Tilghman seems to have finally found an offensive pulse and plugged some defensive holes. This is a must win, there are no other words to describe it. Deray Edmunds continues to deliver outstanding rushing performances and has emerged as one of the west's top backs. U of L is taking a look.
#3
PT by a TD

If devin foster plays union by 20+, if not this game could be close. union has had horrible luck with injuries aand such this year.
#5
even if foster plays, pt will win
#6

#7

Noone that I can see... their victories are over:
4A Beaumont, MO (1-3)
4A Calloway County (3-4)
3A Webster County (0-7)

BUT, the exact same arguement can be made for Union County who has wins over:
1A Ballard Memorial (1-5)
5A Ohio County (0-6)
2A Heath (3-3)

PT's opponents are 4-14, Union's are 4-14 as well.

The difference maker is who they have lost to and how they lost.
Union's losses are to:
2A Evansville Mater Dei (4-2)
5A Madisonville North Hopkins (3-3)
2A Caldwell County (2-4)
Blown out by MNH, shutout by Mater Dei, close loss to Caldwell.

PT's losses are to:
5A Hopkinsville (3-3)
1A Mayfield (7-0)
6A Graves County (4-2)
2A Ft. Campbell (6-0)
Blown out by #1 Ft. Campbell, close losses to #1 Mayfield and Hop'town and Graves.

PT has been more impressive in defeat against a substantially more difficult schedule.

the madison north game was alot closer than it appeared, union was 17-23 with 4 minutes to go

Tilghman collapsed emotionally and physically against Fort Campbell after giving up 21 points in the freakiest first minute of a football game I have ever seen. But Deray Edmonds rushed for 180 yards that night against a team that had been giving up 25 yards rushing a game.

Tilghman has been in every other game they lost and I make no excuses, they did lose them: a last minute field goal to tie Hoptown was inches wide to the left. A fumbled punt reception late in the fourth quarter when PT was leading plus two red zone drops with a minute to go cost them Graves. Mayfield was a better team but PT played them closer than anyone else has, losing by nine. This happened amid fallout from a coaching controversy and four seniors quitting the team. All that seems to have passed. Some other kids have stepped up to plug holes and that process is ongoing.

Foster seems not to have played that much to stay healthy for the district games. Interesting philosophy - or strategy.
