Middlesboro Losing Players

Just heard that Cody Foister is kicked off the team?? After the game friday some coaches and players got into it, now folks is saying that coach Roark might be getting fired, does anyone know what going on with the Jackets???

I found out today that he did. Said that they called the law at the game Friday night and wouldnt even let him back in the locker room! Way to go Roark get rid of your best RB!!! Foister gone, Roark injured they might not win another game this year!

OK heres the run down. Just got off the phone with one of my friends that play for Middlesboro. There was a fight that broke out after the game against Frankfort Friday night because they lost. One player who is mentioned above supposedly tried to fight a coach and the cops were called. Hes no longer on the team.These are some sad days in Middlesboro Football Program. They only started with 30 players. QB Roark is injured and Mike is also injured and now the starting RB is kicked off the team.

Had a friend call me today that heard about this. As far as I know, this is indeed true. Middlesboro is in real trouble and it will take a heck of a coach to clean this up. In my humble opinion, the only option is to boot Roark.

I hate this for the boys... I wished that boro can find a really good coach and staff and get them back on track... Boro does need a new start and we all know where that leads... Might be best if he is gone!!!!!!

If this is true I hate it for the M'boro players. Very sad to hear. Alot of people close to the program have said for years that Roark needed to go???? Seems they may have waited too late?????

Now im told that another player got into it with a coach. Heard the coach pushed him first. I want say the coach's name but the Middlesboro people should know who im talkin about. The same coach who always gets in arguments and pushes around players all the time.

Once again everyone, we are working on getting some type of official confirmation on this issue. Please refrain from making any assumptions about coaches or specific players until this can either be 100% proven or disproven. We appreciate having the scoop on issues that arise, but we are talking about people's livelihoods here so we want to try to be as concise in our approach as possible. Thanks.

I've got the info but will only say that Witherspoon and Foister are no longer on the team. There was an altercation between a player and a coach and the police were called. As of the moment, Foister and Witherspoon are the only players who are currently not on the team. Other players are not quitting as of now.

This is too bad for the kids. Unfortunately when a situation is getting worse and worse someone has to take the leadership. Nobody in Middlesboro School System has stepped up and showed themselves to be a leader in this situation. Historically Middlesboro School System and Booster leadership was more involved than what has gone on in the last few years. In years past a change would have been made long before now and in no way would the management and leadership of the team have been allowed to become this ridiculous. That was because MHS football use to mean something to the community and anymore it doesn't. Some folks in the School System should be embarassed and maybe when its all said and done maybe some of them and some on the board of the Boosters Club should also step down or be ushered out the door. This never should have been allowed to happen and for anyone that has been around the program it was VERY obvious that something was going to happen and it wasn't going to be good.

Sad time in the 'boro. I hope they are able to get things worked out. There are some great kids on that team. I wish them the best.

This thread will still be watched very closely to make sure that no deviations from the truth or personal attacks on character are brought forth. For the past few years I have been hoping Roark would leave M'boro so the new coach would play us. But i would not wish these circumstances on any coach. This seems to be a really sad deal and seems he has lost all control of the program???????

I think this the best place to info for sports. BGR is a place where you can find scores,key or game changing play's,what people thought about the game. This is also a place for me to here about things all around the state. With all this being said I think you have to have to have some rumor to be able to get the truth out. I had heard the samething from a friend in M-bro but was able to find out if truth here. Don't want to add anything else but more to come.:blabbermo

As one who has coached football for years, I can honestly say situations like this are the most saddening of all. Coaches hold a special position of trust and honor. When that bond is broken for whatever reason, it harms the team and the community. I hope Mboro comes back strong from this.

There is more to come. There are more that are off the team but for BGR sake I wont name any names. There are 2 more than what has been named so far.

Someone is going to have to step up and make some hard decisions, very hard if this is going to get resolved. The main problem is nobody has stepped up for a number of years and that is why you have a situation like everyone is talking about. You cannot have a program for kids with kids without some adult leadership or bad things eventually happen. Just a fact.
