Gillum from Greenup should be considered as well.

Connor looks about as good or better than anyone in the region. With the lack of quality bigs in the region she could have a standout season.

Connor can play and will lead the Kittens to the finals this year

Alicia Gunter, Casey Dungeon, and Oney looked pretty at the Aries League

None of these girls would be in my top ten. The only girl from Fairview would be Kayla Day. From what I have heard she has been ruled eligible.

the Gunter girl is a fierce competitor but she is only a freshman and will be one of the best pointgaurds around but i will agree she is not quite in the top ten discussion yet.As for Day,tons of talent, just outside my top 10. Probably in my top 7 or so for next year.

Kaylyn Emmons and Kayla Day are the two top returning scorers (in that order) in the 16th Region for this coming year. The top 3 scorers graduated (two at Elliot and the other at Morgan) last year, so yeah I can see how she wouldn't be a top ten player...
09-14-2009, 02:46 PM
I think S. Ferguson (Elliott) is a top ten player.
09-14-2009, 02:48 PM
I meant K. Ferguson not S. Ferguson of Elliott.
09-14-2009, 06:22 PM
Yes, i agree, I overlooked Ferguson. Definitely in top ten.
09-14-2009, 10:08 PM
Top ten in no certain order:
Connor
Perry
Marshall
Ferguson
Emmons
Parsley
Dieterich
Muncy
Wilson
Easterling
I also look for Gambill and Farris from Ashland to step up their games and be major contributors for Ashland.

Sorry, you must be the parent of one that was just outside my top ten. Lil sensitive. She can be in your top ten all you would like. She is a great talent. Just outside mine and others top 10. imo But yea i can see how she would be in your top 10.Dad

I would have to agree with most of your post. Day may be one of the top returning scoring players, but that was with her taking the majority of the shots on a team that struggled last year. She would not start at Ashland, Rowan or Elliot to name a few. She is a good player but not top ten this year, no offense intended.
09-17-2009, 11:27 AM
Day is a good shooter, but her time will come. She is only a sophmore. She will probally be a top ten by her senior year if she continues to do well. Good luck to all the players in the 16th region.

Haha. I can promise you I am not the dad of either emmons or day. Just stating the "truth" and giving out some facts.

Just because Day scored a few points does not put her in the top ten. If she is a top ten player then why go to a non-contender like Fairvew? Why not go to a region favorite like Ashland instead? If she is a top ten player she would play or start for Coach Bradley and most likely play at Diddle this year. I saw her play this summer and she is a good player but no way a top ten caliber player.
09-17-2009, 02:05 PM
Wow, of all the things you can accuse Ashland of, the one thing you can't accuse them of is being humble. I hope they can live up to their hype.

No matter how I feel about the fact they Kala Day left the hill, she is a good girl and doesn't deserve to be put down my a few people on here. Shame on you.

Then people should not post that someone is top ten if they can't handle the heat. She is a great kid, just not a top ten player in the 16th region.
09-17-2009, 03:20 PM
I was not trying to disrespect the girl in no way. But if someone debates whether or not someone is one of the top ten in the region it leaves it open to discussion. Nothing personal, and I don't believe anything I said was out of hand. Just my personal belief on what I saw last year and over the summer.

Day is overrated, everyone is looking for her to be a strong player for Fairview, but last year she was simply the strongest on a weak team

1. Ferguson-Sees the court better than anyone. Will miss the supporting cast tho.
2. Conner-Will be the best big girl in the region. Greatly improved.
3. Marshall-Great touch, can shoot lights the out.
4. Lewis-Had a great year last year. Good size underneath.
5. Emmons-Can put the ball in the hoop.
6. Muncy-Has the experience and the best coach in the region.
7. Dietrich-Mostly a defensive player, would like to see her used more offensively.
8. Day-A great penetrator. Proven scorer.
9. Parsley-Has height and soft touch.
10.Easterling-Experience and quick. Great player.

I agree about Day being a great player with a little strength I think she will be top 5 by seasons end. She has a little better player support at Fairview. People keyed on her last year as she was the main threat at the Hill. Dont know about her gaining any weight though you have to make choices Top player in the region or Miss America. Who knows she may be both. She is a outstanding kid & has been taught basketball fundamentals at a young age. Only hope here Dad gets to see the entire games she get to play not peeking through the window. Good Luck Kayla and hope you are ruled eligible.

Good Luck Kayla and hope you are ruled eligible.Day shouldnt be eligible...she transferred for all the wrong reasons. And the "move" was a lie. There are other girls who transfer for legitament reasons & have to sit out a year. It's not fair to the ones who get to sit & watch her play while they sit in the stands if she becomes eligible. She's a great kid, but her reason for transfer is not good enough to rule her eligible.
