I just found out today that the Right Beaver Classic will start on Nov.9th. Floyd county is not allowed to play regular season games until the 8th. We all had previously agreed at the end of last year that we were going to start the first week of November, but there was a change with the new athletic policy this summer. Sorry for the wrong date, but that is what I was told at the end of last year.

It is now a panorama: Beginning on Oct.31st Pool A consists of : Wesley, Feds Creek, Mullins, Elkhorn City -- Pool B consists of Virgie, BL, AC, JC (game to be played on Nov. 6)
Each team will be guaranteed 3 games; further details along with 3 point shootout to be posted on Friday. Pool A winner will play Pool B runner -up and vice versa, then a championship game in Panorama.

I'm a huge fan of pool play. Usually the better team always wins out.

With teams like Virgie, Besty Layne, Feds Creek, and Johnson Central this could get interesting. Any of these teams could win this tournament just depends on who comes to play and who doesn't.

I would encourage any basketball fan to come out to this tournament.

All Coaches in Pike, Johnson and Floyd Co. middle school. I will be emailing ballots to you so you can vote on the top players, teams, etc.. for the upcoming basketball season. I will then be publishing a program to be ready with the team rosters, info, etc.. at the Ken Lemaster Showcase. If I don't have your email address (or haven't contacted you in the past) just pm me and I will get the ballots to u. This is a wonderful way to promote our kids in the 15th Region. I encourage all the coaches to vote as this will help get the word out on the talent here in the mountains. The program should be ready by Oct 31st if I get a good response from the coaches.

Who set up the pools, pool b also has Lakers & Cavaliers, pool a has Clippers & bobcats, lets say stacking your side maybe.

Thats why we have winner of pool A playing runner up of b
and vice versa; it doesnt matter; the 2 best teams get to play in championship; regardless of what pool they are in. So the Lakers will get to play Cavaliers if they are the best 2 teams; regardless of pool.

The tournament is listed on 15th Region Roundup: Feds Creeks coach has been notified

The preseason game of the yr. will take place on Thurs night at Wesley: Come out and watch #1 rated team in Pike/Floyd Co. BL take on #3 Feds Creek and the return of their top 3 rated player in Pike-Floyd Co Cameron Justice.

I will post any updates on Friday on 15th Region Roundup

Are you sure BL is the #1 rated team in both Pike and Floyd Co? Sure BL is good but i am not sure i would consider them the best. I would like to see them Play against Virgie, Dorton and possibly Feds Creek before i rank them # 1.

Personally i see Virgie right up there with the best. They went to Hazard last night and beat a great Hazard team who won the KBA tournament this weekend by beating teams like Lexington Catholic.
