Perry County Central Basketball
#1
Has anyone heard when Perry Central will start playing in Summer Camps?
#2
I know they are in the Pikeville College camp the 15th-18th.
#3
Thanks.
#4
Does anyone know how PCC did today in the 2 games they played?
#5
They beat Pike Central by 40 something and Harlan County by 20 something. Looked pretty good for their first 2 games this season.
#6
Any stats from these games? And you started? Thanks.

The starters for both games were:

Jordan Amis
John Gary Spencer
Chris Noble
Tyler Mullins
Josh Salyers

-You could tell that this was PCC's first games of the summer as they looked out of sync and made some bad turnovers. Perry still showed great defensive effort and tremendous hustle.

-I was impressed by the way Corey Martin played considering it was his first games with PCC, he seemed to know the offense well and proved his court suaveness.

-Chris Noble hit 8 3-point goals against Harlan Co. so he seems to have corrected whatever had him off in March.

-Jordan Amis and Tyler Mullins hooked up several times for monstrous dunks, so Jordan's passes are on point and Tyler seems to be becomming more aggressive.

-John Gary showed great hustle and I think he is finally trying to earn some playing time, finally giving up on Hatcher giving it to him.

-Perry looked like a 8-man rotation. Corey, Axl Sizemore, and Dustin Brewer all added really good minutes off the bench. Axl looked by far to be the best rebounder on the team. Dustin proved Jordan much needed rest and played extremely well in his minutes.

shelby valley beat perry 1 in a very good game. perry led most of the game but came up short at the end. both teams didnt play to good though.

scott wasnt that good and perry didnt play well either but perry still won by 20.

best game pcc has played all summer was against johnson central. perry won 55-12 and johnson central is no pushover. all players on pcc contributed very well offensively and defensively. they dominated every aspect of the game. shot great, rebounded well, played great defense, and out hustled jc the whole game. they only had 6 players and they all played great. if they play this way then watch out for them come next season.

Yea they didnt play too well against Valley yesterday but neither did Valley play that good but it was a real good game and Perry just had some mistakes at the end but Perry had this one won and gave it away but the game against Johnson they looked very inpressive...

Come on! They only scored 12 points in an entire game! I'm sure JC had some players missing also.

No they had everyone there I swear, PCC just has very good defense

Looks more like bad offense. Any good varsity team should score a lot more than 12 points in a game! If Johnson Central can only score 12 points in a game, then they are a "pushover"!

If their defense is so good, how many other teams has PCC kept under 15 points in a game?

Johnson County probably just had one of those days where nothing would fall. I'm sure they are not that bad.

PCC went 6-2 this weekend in Florence and played 4 games without their football players and went 3-1, but they ended up winning the tourny but there was just 3 teams that played in it, they beat Carrol County 48-15 in the Championship game...

Boone County went 6-0 in this camp but was not in the tournament.

Sounds like Carroll County was another "pushover".:yikes:

Boone County defeated Carroll Co. 52-15 in this camp. Looks like Carroll Co. is lacking size/inside game.

Perry actually beat Boone they had 5 year olds keeping the score that gave Boone about 3-4 extra points. Boone only won by 1 so really Perry should have won by 2-3.

That's incorrect. The final score should have been Boone 45-40. There was a Boone basket when the score was 10 to 6 that was mistakenly given to Perry Co. and never corrected. Perry Co.'s coach complained about the score keeping, but 45 to 40 should have been the actual score. I filmed the game. All of the Boone parents and coaches noticed the one error as soon as it happened. No big deal. These things happen in summer games. Both teams are good.

Boone won by 18 in their matchup at the Georgetown a camp a couple of weeks ago and by 4 last school season in the LexCath 5th 3rd tournament.

No matter, these teams won't meet again this year unless they both make it to Rupp and are matched together there. Good luck to both teams this season.

Your obviously a Boone fan and any Boone fan would say this either way 5 year olds shouldnt be keeping score and Boone only beat Perry by 18 earlier because it was Perry's 4th game before 4 oclock that day and it was like Boone's 2nd.

No more than you are obviously a Perry County fan. An adult from Perry County was keeping the scorebook. The 8-year-old kids were just running the clock, with the refs supervising.

Boone was missing several key players in the Georgetown camp but still fared well. Excuses are a dime a dozen... Boone has won 4 games in a day at camps before and against teams who have played fewer games...

boone was just up like 5 points midway through the 2nd half before they went on a big run that put them up i think 13. hatcher called time out to try and fix things but perry just didnt have the energy to try and come back. boone pushed the lead to 18 by the end of the game.

and the score at florence was wrong. the kids added 2 points boone scored to pcc but 2 plays later they didnt put 2 points up that pcc scored so boone really did just win by 1 point. pcc was up 1 wit 5 seconds to go and through the ball away trying to get it inbounds. boone went on a fast break and scored a lay up and the player got fouled with 1 second remaining. he missed the ft and pcc missed the full court shot on the rebound.
