I bet it will be hard get a seat in one of the alcohol serving restaurants that open up. You know all the hypocrite NO voters will be in line first when they open. I thought it was funny, all the NO vote flyers that I got put in my mailbox that said we would get bars, nightclubs and strip clubs after it goes wet. KY law says a 4th class city isn't allowed to have those, even if wet. It is only allowed in restaurants that serve 50% food and in carry-outs and in grocery stores, but never by the drink, except in restaurants.

Lol the fliers were great. I will post it when I go back down there. It made it seem that if voted yes, the sky would fall and hookers and gangbangers would flood the streets. Pikeville is wet, and I don't think any of of that stuff goes down.

We don't have much to worry about in Johnson, until they allow oxys and meth over the counter.

Hookers and strip clubs? I wish Jenkins would go wet Sad

My personal favorite radio spot on election day was the one about all the "public urination in the street" that would ensue upon a "wet vote".... y'all get much of that in Prestonsburg or Pikeville?
#11
Just don't sell beer at The MAC!

I've been to Prestonsburg and Pikeville quite a bit and never saw anyone pee in the street. Dunno, maybe someone might pee in the street when they walk out of one of the "bars" that won't be here in Paintsville. I've been having a good laugh at all the lies the Churches posted in thoses flyers they handed out.
#13
When do they expect to start selling alcohol?
#14
They have recently opened up that bar in downtown Prestonsburg, so peeing the streets could take place soon if it already hasn't. lol

Whitesburg has been wet for two years and it is one of the best things that has happened. Contrary to pentecostal mafia statements, DUI arrests have decreased dramatically. If you do not have to drive very far to get a drink, it is easier to get a designated driver or someone to pick you up.

Heard the possibility of an Applebee's coming to town.

I have heard this too. I heard several years ago, that going wet was all Applebees was waiting for. I hope if they come, nobody goes outside the restaurant and pees on the street, like the radio ad said.

Maybe we will get a decent steak house, instead of that fly infested Ponderosa and Shoney's. At the very least, I won't have to go to Floyd county to get my Margarita mixings and a few brews and wine.

I'd really like to have an Outback or somethin' along those lines.

A big hurdle is finding workers.

I thought these types of restarurant's had a certain population requirement before they would commit to a area.

Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I'm sure an Outback or other major steakhouse wouldn't come because of that. An Applebee's might because Paintsville is central to Prestonsburg and Salyersville. This one guy is putting a steak/rib place downtown, but I hope another good steakhouse come over Walmart too.

I think being wet is the only perogative. Paintsville is similar in size to Hazard and Wise, Va and they both have Applebees.
