i honestly think it will be a great game but i give the edge to jc ashland always has one of the most talented teams in the state. but i think when it comes down to it ashland will be out coached in this one matney will have his team fired up and ready to play
jc by 2 or more td's but i think i will be closer than the score

I would not under estimante blume and his running ability. I remember taking my niece to the GC game and I was awwed at how well he found the gaps and just took it to em or ran to you no matter you're size. But I have not made my mind up yet but this game will be determined by the who wants it more type game and this game i have been lookin forward to since I saw JC's name on their schedule. GL to both

Ashland has been known historically to be outcoached in recent years. The addition of Coach Hart as the newest Tomcat head coach has put an end to that. He is a very very good football coach. IMO, his biggest problem is still making the adjustment from the college game to the high school game.

This game is one of the best games around the state. I cant wait for Friday night. This is for the District Chapionship. Winner takes all #1 seed and easier playoff games. I look for JC to pull it off..Im going to say that Blume has a big game b/c big players make big plays in big games..

Those are very strong words. I don't know him personally, but as a coach I absolutely despise him, too. He did some very embarrassing things to Ashland my freshmen year that cost me to lose a lot of respect for him. I think he is a great coach though. It just seems as though his ethics were very wrong that night. I don't know if it was a one night happening or if it was a normal occurance.
Then the following year our game fell on the week of the 9/11 attacks. His team was doing very poorly that season after graduating nearly 25 seniors the year before. The entire state was going to continue playing football that weekend. He on the other hand, refused to make the trip to Ashland and play. Instead he tried to not play us at all that season. The only problem with that was that if we did not fufill playing our district schedule, it would have ruled us ineligible for the playoffs. Finally the KHSAA ruled that it would be a forfeit game unless his team made the trip to Ashland to play the game. In turn, we were forced to play varsity games on Monday and Friday of that week.
I understand that he may have been trying to give his team every opportunity to sneak by the radar and get a victory. In my eyes though, and many of the Tomcat faithful, it was done entirely under the wrong circumstances of 9/11. Maybe there were other reasons that were unknown to our community, but without that knowledge, it seemed very, very tasteless.

Hey PAL whats going on?? I didn't realize I had friends down that way! please forgive me, I didn't mean to make anyone sick. My Arrogance was in reply to post # 22, Not to ANY post you have added. so since you are my PAL and all please forgive me.... I look forward to seeing this jc team. honestly I cannot wait to see blume run, I want to see all the hype everyone is hearing. If your team makes it further in the play offs, dont think I wont be jumping on th jc train. (somebody has to kick bell) If YOUR jc team is as for real as you state, bring them up this way, ashland will be a good test. Regardless of what happens friday we'll Always be PALS right??? I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one! JC does have many more players than just Blume. So Ashland, it would be wise not to just key on Blume all night!

I am glad to hear from any jc posters that they do have more than one player, give the other boys some credit too, blume cannot do what he does without them. On the other hand and you MUST agree, Blume is all anyone has heard form the press to the posters on this very thread. THATS why I made my ARROGANT post (attn golden eagle) I am not by far an arrogant person nor am I a bragging type. Win or lose, Ashland WILL be the best team you have faced. bring your best game. Leave everything on the field. I PROMISE Ashland will.

I totally agree 100%! This is the way it has been in football for as long as I have been around it. Being a running back myself, I see that the press, the fans, and others who aren't very familiar with football give ALL of the credit to the backs and receivers. Just the way it has been, press gives the light to the backs but the backs SHOULD give some of the light to the big guys up front. Not all backs do, but they should. If it weren't for those guys in the trenches, the ball carrier would get no where, and I don't care who you are!!! That being said, I think the key to whoever will win this game will be LINE BLOCKING!

Well, the only thing I can really notice is that both sides match up incredibly. Both quick and agile. Ashland has the upper hand in quickness but we have the upperhand in strength and size. There will be some trench warfare!

I think this will be the best matched game in the state. strength and speed vs speed and agility. sounds good to me.

Agree 100%! This may sound a little absurd but if either team isn't careful, this may not be as close as everyone predicts. If it isn't decided in the closing seconds of the game, I think this could make out to be a 2 or 3 td win for either team! Both teams are just that talented and can make the big play at anytime!
